Has anyone, from either UCLA, LMU, or USC been offered a 1L summer clerkship as a recruiting tool before 1L year even started? I've heard about it, and I am wondering the details.
Also, does anyone know where I can find avg. starting salaries for beginning associates at firms? That doesnt require subscription? Thanks!
UCLA around 100k
Boalt around 50k
Waitlisted at Yale, Stanford, Columbia
Waiting to hear from Harvard.
I am interested in Sports law. I like the flexibility I will have graduating with less debt, but Boalt is around 10 spots better than UCLA, plus I like their grading system better.
Plus, I'm WLd at YSC, and I assume I will get no money if I get into one of those. Any thoughts on what I should expect about those three waitlists? And if you had to choose now, what would you pick? Thanks
Advice on how to ask a Dean for more money? I have already been given about 3/4 tuition at a top 20 law school, but I would like to use my admittance at Boalt as leverage to get even more money. Any ideas??
Hi I'm in at UCLA (around 80k for 3 years) and Boalt (no fin aid yet), waiting to hear back from Harv, Yale, Stanf, Columbia with a 169 and a 3.65 at UCLA.
I've met with UCLA and they seem to want me, convincing me UCLA's entertainment law is awesome. I don't doubt it, but if I get into a top school, with no money, versus UCLA with money, I don't know what I'll do. Any advice? Would someone go to Boalt with the above info right off the bat?
I assume it will be easier to find a job coming from a top school, but since UCLA is in LA where I want to practice entertainment law, I figure it is almost negligible, no? School me please!

Hi world tomorrow I am meeting with the Dean of Admissions at a top Cali school (I'll tell yall after tomorrow : ) ) I have only received admissions from 3 other schools, 1 being a full ride at Loyola Maramount, 1 a top UC law school, and Univ. Miami (gave me the 69,000). I am still waiting to here back from Yale, Harvard, Columbia.
Going in, I am kinda wondering how I should approach financial aid discussions and stuff like that. Any ideas?
