I met with the career service guy and he said that because i was a petroleum supply specialist in iraq and i have my undergrad degree in business that he was pretty sure id be able to land a job this summer with an oil company. We shall see how that goes.

Do u know what your going to try and do this summer?

all my friends in med school wish they were in law school. most of my friends in law school joke that they should have went to med school. I think i would enjoy being a doctor more than a lawyer. I also think that i enjoy law school more than i would enjoy med school.  In the end they are both good professions. If your smart enough to get into med school u will probably do well in law school. The upside of that is that u will be making pretty good money after three years. U will also have alot less debt. In the end doctors will prob make more money than lawyers. it will take them about 8 years to catch up with lawyers then they still have to pay off their debt. After about 13 years u r probably better off financially as a doctor.

As far as working 40 hours a week. That really doesnt happen that often anymore. I dont have any friends with great jobs who dont put in the hours. the truth is that these days if u want to make the big money u have to put in the time. Well hope this helps a little.

does anyone know how much u should make as an intern and then a new employee as a landman working for an oil and gas company?  I am thinking about putting my focus their for a job this summer and am just curious to how it compares to law firm pay.

i think u had an 8.5 and i had a 8.47 So we were almost in the same boat. I guess their was no 31 because i knew another number 30 so i am right behind u.

well i ended up 32 out of  154. this put me in the top 20.7 percentile. I really wish i could have gotten on more point on the 12 point scale to put me in the top 20. I guess i should be happy with where i am though.
