Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Commuting
« on: April 03, 2008, 05:07:45 PM »
I'm planning on commuting for at least the first semester.  I'm about an hour train ride outside of NYC, plus I figure about 15 minutes for the subway to get to Cardozo.  Like someone else said, I'm gonna hang out all day at the school and then head home at night.  Hopefully not being mugged on the subway/train on the way home.

Sadly, I figured out that one months NYC rent = transporation costs for one semester.

In the words of some other clever LSDer

I wipe my ass with waitlists. And American's too.

Uh, if we don't send in the deposits, is that just like withdrawing? Cause I'm like, really lazy on my spring break and don't feel like talking to anyone outside my immediate family.

but if this is some sort of karma thing where i should be nice so someone else can have my spot, please yell at me

IMHO: Call, politely explaining you have a deposit deadline at another school and that Hasting is your first choice and you would really enjoy any additional information they can provide.

Uh well, I believe I saw BLS and NYLS on the website of the top BigLaw firm. I mean, I know absolutely crap about BigLaw so who knows what that's worth.

Have you tried emailing? I emailed my top school (admissions counselor I met with during my visit) and I basically told them I had a April 1 deposit deadline and I really wanted to hear from them because they were my numero uno.  The next day the dean called.  So from now on I'm a firm believer in poking and prodding the admissions office (in a nice way)

Mailbox had my wait list in it today. I gotta admit, I laughed out loud considering the head scratching going on and I was like "Watch, my waitlist comes tomorrow." I'll probably withdraw too, considering I'm slowly realizing I'm NYC or bust.

Law School Admissions / Re: Fordham Application Status Checker

I went complete like, late January I think.  I was/am a little slow on the law school game, so I didn't realize there was a Application Status Checker.  I was definitely complete by Feb 5th if that helps, but I have a feeling it was a little earlier than that.

My bitterness towards all law schools in general is so evident by my posts.  I haven't heard from American too, but if you're waitlisted then I'm assuming I am too. Or maybe they'd just reject me. That'd be funnier.
