Hmmmm. I will also have to look into this. I got the 256MB on a I9300 and put in 2GB myself for $215.went with the Dell 600m - wanted a little bigger screen than the 700m
used coupon from here:
ended up ~$1200 with extra battery, backpack, 4 yr maintenance + accident (I'm PT law school) and 64MB on video. Went with 256MB RAM, will replace that with 1GB from Mushkin (www.muskin.com for $120 and then return the 256 to Dell for credit. Yes it's overkill for just law school but it'll probably be used by rest of family as desktop backup when I'm fricking reading all the time...
You can return it for Dell credit?? Tell me more!!
Call Dell - according to their website you have 30 days on new systems. I'm thinking if I can get $40 out of the 256 stick it will only have cost me $80 for a gig.
Today some Dell 'GURU' told me they don't this, but surfing Dell's forum uncovered a couple threads that included directions from Dell and where to return memory - so who knows. I'm going to try the 1 gig for a little while and then see if what happens when I call Dell.
