Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Brooklyn law vs. st johns
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:02:24 PM »
I am in a similar boat and have little time to decide.  I have 30K at BLS and a full ride at St. John's.  I prefer BLS and think I would enjoy law school more there, but really how important is that with similar job prospects etc.?  Anyone have any insight?

Is this because Fordham does not require any LORs?

Personal Statements, Resumes, and Letters of Recommendation / Getting late?

I just spoke to a third recommender and he probably won't be getting that letter into LSAC for a month.  Is this entirely too late?  Can I send my applications now and have the third LOR be added somehow after I submit my application?  I am just going to be sitting around for a month waiting for this letter!

Yuck.  Do you think it looks really horrendous to have a write up in college for drinking and then a summons for open alcohol only a year ago?  I am really ashamed of this.  It looks like I'm a drunk.  Will this deter schools from accepting me?

Law School Admissions / Disciplinary action?

An application is asking me whether or not I was the subject of any disciplinary action in college.  I think that i got in trouble once for drinking in my dorm room but I really don't remember if I was punished in any way.  I remember getting a pretty stern talking to but can't quite remember the rest.  Is this the sort of thing that they want to know in that section?  Should I call up my undergrad uni and see if they have it on record whether or not I was disciplined for this?  It seems very silly.
