What about in Miami-ish markets? I am interested in West Palm Beach particularly, if that helps narrow it down some.

i think you and I both dealt with the January stress the same way- by throwing another app out there. Same school too.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Texas 1L taking questions...

To address some of the previous questions:

1) The UT LRAP just recently got the green light by the dean. Details are still being worked out. I'm sure it will get pimped to next year's incoming class

ricefigaro, thank you so much for this. I think I love UT again.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Does Work Experience Matter?
« on: January 29, 2008, 06:43:56 PM »
Will lots of time spent working help? I spent 13 years in another career before finishing up  my last two years of undergrad. I worked one full time job and one part time job during the "finishing" process. Sorry to take this thread in a slightly different direction, but I am kinda counting on my work experience to ring some bells somewhere.

Any thoughts?

Could you expand on the weaknesses you are perceiving?

Thanks!

I'm in! Plan to be a public defender first (helloooooo, LRAP), and hopefully graduate to doing death penalty appeals.

There's nothing wrong with BigLaw as long as you know what you are getting into, but it is just not for me. I don't work well miserable, and as long as I can the bills on a very minimal expense lifestyle I am fine.

Nice to see so many people who want to do something that is meaningful to them.

Glad to see it is not just me. I sent everything in November. Just had my dean resend the cert. in case that was the holdup. Status checker still set to "When you submit the rest of your materials, you will be complete."

It is at least a relief to know that my app is not so out of the question that they are ignoring it. :)

Nothing from any of my schools. Really starting to imagine the worst.
