Law School Applications / URM Black Male 3.4GPA Chances« on: July 22, 2009, 10:28:42 AM »
I'm a black male URM with a 3.4 at Cornell, great LORs, and a ton of extracurriculars. I'm taking the LSATS in September. What LSAT would I need to have a chance at these schools?
Yale/Harvard- Columbia- UPenn (My top choice)- NYU- Cornell- Georgetown- Thanks. 12

I am registered to take the June LSAT. I had studied for the LSATS for a little while in October and November but my score wasn't where I wanted it to be and so I decided to put off this law school cycle and wait until the 2009-2019 cycle. I took a few practice tests in October/November and was scoring in the 150 range. I just bought the Offical LSAT SuperPrep and all 3 Powerscore bibles. What course of study would you recommend? SuperPrep first then move onto the Bibles? etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am an African-American male with a 3.4 GPA at Cornell University. I have a ton of leadership experience. My only problem is my LSAT score. I have been getting in the 152 range on practice tests and I am registered to take the December exam. I was hoping to go to a T14 school or Fordham in NYC. Do I still have a chance at any? I really don't want to take time off between undergrad and law school. What would you guys recommend? Should I take the December LSAT? Is it possible to improve 10 points with two weeks left? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

SORRY!!!! It was a typing mistake. The classroom course filled up (not the virtual online course). As a result I'm considering taking the online course. Can anyone tell me anything about it.

So I waited until the last minute to sign up for the Powerscore online virtual course and now it's completely full. I'm considering taking the online virtual course. Has anyone heard anything about this course? Is it good? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Law School Applications / "W" Withdraw on Transcript?« on: March 25, 2008, 11:30:22 AM »
Hi all. I'm considering withdrawing from a class. It is late in the semester so I would have a "W" on my transcript. If I don't withdraw from the class I will most likely get a C on my transcript. I currently have no C's on my record. Withdrawing from this class would put me at 12 credits? Is this bad? Is it worth it to get a "W"? How will T14 schools (specifically Columbia, NYU, and Penn) look at this? I tried to use the search feature (Google-powered) but it doesn't wotk very well. Thanks all!

well I'm currently a junior at Cornell University in the ILR School (Industrial and Labor Relations). Unfortunately I only have a 3.4GPA. It looks like I will have to do really well on my LSATS to get into a T14, probably above a 170. What are the chances of a black URM with a 3.4GPA and 165+ LSAT with a TON of leadership extracurriculars getting into a T14 and Fordham? Thanks.

Can someone give me some info on Fordham? I know its #25 on the US News Ranking list. How good is their reputation for placing in private firms in NYC? Chances of making 120K+ after graduation in NYC after graduating from Fordham? Also, Will being a black URM increase my chances at Fordham? Thanks.
