Hey Brain Age,
Im accepted to UH!!!!!!! Finally!!!!! I called last week and explained my situation and got the acceptance!
It seems that a lot of people, especially part-timers, received their acceptances via email last week.
Are you still heading to STCL??

Hi Diet,
I too had to disclose an incident at UH. I think their application said to supplement as needed. I went to the court house and got a printout/copy of my "final disposition." I submitted this with my application.
When I received my acceptance letter, they did not ask me for anything else.
Also, this was the only school I supplemented. When I received my acceptances (even to Baylor), they did not ask for documentation.
My incident was about 7 years ago and they still had record. But you may have to go to the actual courthouse where it was filed.
Hope this helps... Keep me posted.

Hi, well I just got my acceptance to UH on Friday! That is where I am heading. Between Baylor, UH and SMU - what I have heard is the SMU is best in the Dallas market, UH in the Houston market and Baylor is second best in Dallas and Houston in terms of placement. I know that US Ranking wise - it is UT, SMU and this year Baylor and UH will be tied for 55.
Let me know what happens on your end. Good Luck.

Just wanting to know some people thoughts/feelings on going to Baylor. UH is my 1st choice but have not heard from them. If I have not heard by this Monday, I am signing on the dotted line at Baylor where my classes start May 12th.
Any fellow Bears? Advice, etc.?

PLEASE PLEASE SAY YOU ARE JOKING!!!! By the end of April, I would have already put a security deposit on an apt in waco for baylor! I know baylor is a good school and all, but UH is my 1st choice. It would seriously suck to make my decision just based on the fact that i did not hear from UH on time.
When I first spoke with UH over a month ago, they said their target deadline was early April. How can they expect students to make a decision with about a month notice to start their own school. Dont they consider some of us have to move, finalize our private loans, etc. You can't even fill out a private (GRAD plus, etc) loan without knowing the school you are going to attend.
I am going to call UH tomorrow and try to plead my case to get a decision. Anybody else doing to same???
I am freaking out!!!!!!!!

I guess till my loan application funds. I am really tied to Houston, but feel Baylor is my better choice than South TX. My last day at work is April 15th. Come April 16th, I will drive to Waco to scope out apartments, but won't put any money down till end of April I guess.I would be SHOCKED if I did not hear anything by April 21st.
When I called the admin office 3-4 wks ago, they said their target date for all decisions was early april. when i asked last week, they said mid-april. I hope it does not move back any more.
Thanks Brain Age. You've been a real help to me in this process. I know where to write if I have any more questions.

Brain Age - super dumb question. What is ASW?? Admitted student .... Who did you talk to/email with your situation. Were they receptive? I have called twice to check my status and some mean person named Samantha always answers the phone and is completely unhelpful. I need to know soon as my work situation is also being wrecked by not knowing. I pulled 10 gray hair from my head last night!!! Thanks.

STCL is the better of the 3, then St. Marys, then Weslayan, in my opinion. But I would also look at the curriculum/clinics/programs and see which one had the best in the field I wanted to study. STCL is great with clerkships and moot court. Tuition-wise they are all the about the same and they are all in nice-sized cities.
Is this a hypothetical, or are you really needing advice to help decide?

I think it is obvious. South TX if you are from/plan to work in Houston. St. Marys if in San Antonio, and Weslayan if in Dallas/FW.
I am from Houston and STCL has a good reputation. Firms recruit from there quite a bit. But of course, main competition is from UH, UT and Baylor to an extent. Houston would recruit from St Marys before TX Weslayan. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen/meet/know someone in Houston who went to Weslayan. So if you want to go to Houston, STCL is a great choice if you did not get into UH.
