oh boy, I was the one who had said priority mail originally not meaning literally priority mail, but to describe the size of the box, as in "hey, like one of those priority mail, flat-rate boxes".
Oh! Thanks for the clarification How long did it take for your package to arrive? I still think 7 days for something to travel from Nashville to Wash., DC. is ridiculously long...
they don't come priority mail, it's normal mail
Whew! My day just got a little brighter, jdr145. I'm in the same boat as Ender. Mailed on the 9th and numbers that should make Vandy a safety. At least that's what I thought when I applied so many months ago.
I tend to think I am getting rejected. It said they mailed on the 9th, but I thought they did Priority Mail for acceptances. Since I haven't gotten anything, I would think it's a ding.
How, if your LSN numbers are accurate, could you possibly think you're getting rejected?! My decision was also mailed on the 9th and I still haven't received anything. Que sera, sera.
I'm really kind of puzzled (although happy for the people who appear to have gotten in!) - I applied in September, and haven't heard a peep from UVa.
Yikes, decision mailed. I think I'm going to have a panic attack. How long should this take to get to the northeast?
My checker went to "decision mailed" last Wednesday, Jan. 9, and I'm still waiting. I'm in Wash, DC. A post in another thread said acceptance packages are sent in priority mail boxes. Does that mean it should come more quickly than regular post? Am I toast?
It shouldn't be a problem on the FAFSA. There are certain conditions you must meet to be considered independent. I'm 29, married with 2 kids and I haven't had to list my parents' info on there since I've been in school.
Many schools require your parents' info regardless of age/your marital status/parents' marital status. Michigan and Duke come immediately to mind.
How "big" are we talking, here? My checker went to decision on the 9th, so I expect to receive something today. If it's good news, I hope it doesn't get sent back to the post office because the box doesn't fit in my tiny apartment mailbox!

Yes! I've been complete since mid-October. Mid-October!! I fit comfortably into the 50%-75% bracket, but I'm starting to brace for a rejection.
