Law School Applications / Does it hurt if you do worse?
« on: October 25, 2008, 12:49:26 AM »
So I just got my score back, and thinking I would do much better the second time around, I find out I in fact did worse. Will this hurt my chances?

I went from a 161 first time, to a 158 second.

LSAC and LSDAS / Resending Transcripts for higher GPA, after applying.
« on: October 16, 2008, 11:28:48 AM »
Okay, so my issue is that my LSAC Cum GPA is a 3.49, and I know that after this semester, if I send my revised transcripts it can be a 3.5+. I plan to send my applications in November, but is it possible for me to send a revised report from LSAC to the schools I applied to, with an updated GPA in January (or earlier if I get my transcripts earlier)? Also will I be charged for this? Do schools look negatively at this?

I'm looking for someone to trade and critique my Ps with. Anyone interested? It's my First Draft, so I still think it needs some work.

Law School Applications / Resume, Addendum, or both?
« on: October 06, 2008, 10:53:24 PM »
One issue which I would like to address in my applications is that up until recently I was responsible for taking care of my grandmother. It was a very time consuming period and not only did my grades in College suffer a bit (nothing major but I went from having A's Bs, and 2 Cs, to straight As), but I was unable to work. I feel this is important to address since job experience is a qualification most schools look for. My question is should I address this within the resume and place this as an experience? Should I write an addendum explaining what happened, what I did, and why I couldn't work? Or should I do both, chalk it up to experience in my resume and also write an addendum detailing my experience? I'm leaning more to just writing it in the addendum and talk about it further in my personal statement, but I would really like to hear other's thoughts on the matter.

Studying for the LSAT / Difficult LSATs
« on: June 14, 2008, 12:42:36 AM »
Does anyone know any recent (2000+) that were found to be  difficult overall? I know the calculations make it so that they balance out with the other years, but I figure I go give it a try and see if anyone knows of any difficult ones. I'm trying to find one to take as practice tomorrow so that I can better prepare myself for what I can expect, worse case scenario on Monday.

LSAC and LSDAS / Question regarding Transcripts
« on: December 10, 2007, 10:28:30 PM »
I plan on applying to Law School in the fall, ergo, I was thinking of sending my transcripts to the LSAC at the end of summer, beginning of fall in order to get my gpa up through summer classes. My question is will the LSAC automatically ask for you transcripts in the semesters following your application. In other words will my fall semester and spring semester be taken into account at all? If I send my transcripts with a 3.3 and do well in fall and spring to get it to a 3.5 will it be worth anything?
