I think I'm actually going to go for a third shot and take it in December and apply in Jan. I just hope the risk pays off.

Hmm thanks, I think I'm going to risk it and retake for a third time. I'm teetering on a breakdown, but I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't try. Anyone else here retaking fora third time?

How about if you do better but not by something drastic as 10 points. Say from a 161 the first time, a 158 a second, and a 165 a third. Will the third time look bad? Will they see the score as just a fluke?

And any advice as to what I should do? I'm considering taking it again but I really don't want to. Neither of my scores fell within my average while taking practice tests, so I feel they're not reflective, but I don't want to do worse, and I don't want to apply in December because I feel a later application will hurt me. How high would I have to get in December for it to counteract the bad score in Oct, and the late application? 8

I too am pretty down. I was averaging 164 with a 160 being my lowest ever, and a 167 my highest. First time in June got a 161. Retook and now I have a 158. I feel like I screwed what chance I had... I'm not retaking, at this rate a 155 seems to be in my future.

So I just got my score back, and thinking I would do much better the second time around, I find out I in fact did worse. Will this hurt my chances?
