I just got waitlisted at U of Mich, and since it's probably unlikely that I will get in, I'm wondering if it would be better (for a future cycle) if I withdrew my candidacy. In other words, if I applied again to U of Mich, would it look better on my application if they knew that I withdrew my WL rather than being ultimately rejected?

FWIW, the U of Michigan waitlist letter is the most flattering of the WLs I've received (I've also received WLs from Vanderbilt and American).

If you withdraw, then they think you don't want to go there.  Send in a LOCI, take the rejection, retake the LSAT, reapply, profit.

I agree with reezy.  Definitely don't withdraw.

Also, mconnett you're exactly right about Michigan's waitlist letter.  The quality of writing in all their materials is really outstanding.

Cosmo, are you planning on going to the GW preview day next week?  It might help answer a lot of your questions.  I have to run to a meeting, but I'm gonna PM you later.

I went to the admitted students reception tonight in Philly and had a really great time.  There were lots of alumni there, actually, which was nice, and the other potential students seemed like cool people, too.  I definitely recommend going to one if y'all haven't already.

Increased merit award at GW.  Up to 103,500 now.  Cosmo, I think all of the Presidential Awards are getting increased.  Yours should be here shortly if you haven't heard already.

When did you hear?  I haven't heard anything yet  :-\ :-\ :-\

GW hasn't offered me anything yet...

Hey, for those of you into IP/technology/entertainment law, check out Penn IP Group's new blog:

Hopefully that will get some of you newbies excited about LS (and help get us indexed in Google!).  It's amazing how many great events students put together every year.   :)

The symposium looks like it was really interesting.  Do you mind asking Renee Post to give me a friendly phone call so I can start planning to join PIPG and all the other groups I'm interested in at Penn?  :)

I'm pretty much obsessing non-stop between the hours of 9 and 5 every weekday.  You can imagine how this is affecting my productivity at work.

When I get bored or stressed, I pull my eyebrows...Apparently a sign of anxiety disorder or OCD.

What are yours?

Me too.  Wonder OCD Twin powers, activate!

haha.  perhaps trichtotillomania and posting on LSD are correlated?

Holy crap.  Is that what it's called?  It sounds sinister.
