Law School Applications / Re: Did anyone else get this Emory email??

Congrats, Elaine! Are you going to come to the ASW? There's a facebook event for it if you want to see everyone  :)

Oh, you're easy too.

One of my lacrosse buddies played at your school...

Wait, am I like the only girl from Ohio on there? Dammit, I am easy. And lacrosse is the only sport people watch at my school so your friend made a good choice.

I really set myself up for a "that's what she said" comment, didn't I?

Reading comprehension.  Whoops.

And are you on the Facebook group for Emory yet, or are you not ready to make that commitment?

I'm in the event for ASW, but not the official Emory 2011 one...OSU randomly started giving out additional money to people this week, so I'm waiting to see if they give me any, but even then, I would probably still go to Emory. I'll join when I put my seat deposit down. Are you in the group? I've been trying to guess who everyone is! (GC is the only obvious one)

Hey Decider! Since you have already told me in no uncertain terms that I should go to Emory, I wondered if you had an opinion on where my friend should go!

(she has 15K a year to both ND and OSU)

-If you are an in-state resident for one of the schools, let me know which one: Ohio

-If your parents are paying for a % of your law school, explain that.  Be sure to include whether or not you care about your parent's spending excess money. No help from parents

-Let me know what you are like socially and what type things you enjoy. our sorority president, so she likes to go out, but she doesn't go crazy at parties or anything

-Where you want to practice, and what kind of law you want to practice (possible options include biglaw, midlaw, small firm law, public interest, clerking, government and business). biglaw for a few years then public interest/government, she likes DC

-Any other notably relevant information. SO of 1 1/2 years will be in Cleveland, OH for grad school while she's in law school

She's not listing scholarship money from anywhere...
UVA

Thanks, Decider! She hasn't gotten money anywhere except for ND & OSU which I told you the amounts, so your response helps!

You are all going to feel very guilty if something bad happens to Wally on this trip! jk, but it does help to visit, so much more than you think, overcome your fears!

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Emory Class of 2011

Lots of people ride bikes. I haven't heard any of them riding from Post. As 1 Professor said about living in Post, "You might as well live in Gwinnett County". (Emory's in Dekalb county) There are condos off Houston Mill & Clifton, Highland Square, and if you have $$ - there's an apartment next to Emory Inn where you can walk across the street to the law school. A 1 bedroom there runs $1300+. Traffic sucks in the morning. Catching the shuttle from the parking deck as required to all 1Ls (couple of things you can do to bypass this) adds an additional 10-25 average to your commute time.

So what are the things we can do to bypass this? You've piqued my interest...

Elle, posting from computers is so three years ago.  Who doesn't post from their cell phone now? 8)

Ha, I am so not cool enough for this thread.
