Where should I go next fall? / Texas Tech 2008
« on: March 05, 2008, 06:53:22 PM »
hey yall! so i'm currently leaning towards heading up to lubbock and attending tech this upcoming fall, assuming i am not accepted at any of the remaining 3 schools where i am still pending. after visiting a few of my choices, and taking a weekend trip up to TTU, i'm getting pretty good vibes about this. anyone else thinking they're going to be a red raider as well?!  :)

:)that puts a whole new perspective on things! how exciting!! my lsat is significantly lower than their mean score, which is why i assumed i was an auto-ding. still finding it hard to believe that i wont end up with a rejection in my mailbox from them, but here's to hoping for the opposite!!

ok, so what if aschool that has had meunder review since early november has been handing out rejections/acceptances/WL to ppl who applied around the same time as myself as well as after me. i still havent heard a peep. i emailed admissions and they sent me a nice reply apologizing for the delay and just said that the committee was still looking over my application. madtown, are you suggesting i shouldn't yet give up hope on this particular school? initially when i sent in my app, i was 99% sure i'd be an auto-reject.

i've been told that tech's largest alumni base is in dallas. while i'm sure competition is steep for DFW jobs from other schools such as smu and ut, i'd imagine the TTU alumni networking there has to at least be a small plus.

Law School Applications / where is my rejection letter from ND?!
« on: January 24, 2008, 02:23:34 PM »
so i applied to notre dame at the end of october, and went complete mid november. i'm pretty much an auto-reject, as my LSAT is significantly lower than their 25%. however, i havent received a decision from them yet. i noticed on LSN that a surge of people who applied around the same time, and even after me, received their rejections about two days ago. what is going on here?! if they're going to just reject me, i wish they'd just put me out my misery already :( anybody have any thoughts about what's going on?

BTW, i have pretty good EC's, im assuming my LOR were good, and i've received really great feedback on my PS. i wrote an additional addendum discussing how my father, 3 uncles, and cousin all attended ND for undergrad, and were ridiculously involved (varsity soccer, student body president, etc). however, since i'm not a legacy to the law school itself, i doubt this carries any weight.

Law School Applications / U of Arkansas-Fayetteville question
« on: January 09, 2008, 11:49:21 PM »
so i received a random package in the mail. it included a photo directory of current students and faculty, along with a course catolog, and something describing in detail all the fees and costs i should expect to be held accountable for. however, there was no letter or explanation to the intent of this package. i am assuming it is just promo material. i'm just a little thrown off because nearly all the other schools that sent me promo packages sent a viewbook that broadly discussed the school, and majority included a letter expressing thanks for my interest in their school. just wanted to see if any other U of Arkansas applicants had received similar packages, and/or if anyone knew what this might mean? thanks : )

so, once i send in an updated transcript to lsac, do i need to do anything else? will they automatically send out updated transcripts to all the schools i replied to? am i going to have to purchase more academic summary reports?? i'm probably making this way more complicated than it actually is
