I really want to be a Prosecutor. I'll take a PD position but I truly want to be a prosecutor.

I was told today from a SA that it isn't too difficult to do a lateral transfer. While many tend to promote from within, within the bigger cities there are more options. Besides, as long as I am working in a SA or PD office somewhere in FL I am happy.

Yup, I am sure. You start at 34 until you pass the bar and then you move up to 40k....

Current Law Students / SA in Dade County

Unless I am mistaken the only place in FL that appears to be hiring is Dade County. However they only make about 40k a year. Which I assume if you have a family of 3 wouldn't last too long.. Is it possible to live in Miami-Dade on 40K a year.

Oh well, it is time for me to move on. It would have been nice to retire in 12 years. I just know, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, the SJA must not have liked me. He kept asking me why my grades dropped my spring semester. I told him that I missed a full month of school because my wife was sick. It wasn't even like it dropped that much. LOL....

Oh well, whatya gonna do.

If I had been selected I could have retired in 12. I am beginning to think that maybe my school has something to do with me never getting selected. Unless I bombed my interview and just don't realize it.

All I know is that you are promoted to Capt (O3) within 6 months. Other than that I do not know. I imagine that all of the other SJA's made phone calls yesterday too. I guess I didn't make. Congratulations.
