Current Law Students / Re: All Grades in

Thanks Everyone. You are making me feel pretty good about my chances. What is really weird is at tha beginning of the semester I told myself, and most of my friends, I only desired to be top 1/3.. Now, that I did pretty good, I want top 10%... I am worrying about something that I told myself I wouldn't worry about.

I promised myself that I am NOT going to slack off. I refuse...

Actually, we are at a straight 2.6 curve.. At least that is what we have all been told. I honestly don't get this curve *&^%. I would love to transfer bo I don't see it happening due to famiy concerns. Last year, on the same curve, a 3.1 was the top 15%.. Besides, I am in a very smart section. I am finding it hard to believe that it will be the same this year.

All my grades are finally in, I did all right but my hopes of being possibly in top 10% are fading quickly. My school has a 2.6 curve, my GPA is a 3.288    Oh well, I guess there is always next semester.

Thanks, After batteling with that damn LSAT I am glad I am doing o.k.

Does the size of the class matter when dealing with this crap? If you can't tell, i am an idiot when dealing with this crap... I hate math... I would love to be top 10% at the end of the year, I don't want to have to write onto law review, as law review might be my best shot at getting a decent job.

Current Law Students / VERY stupid question regarding grades and curves
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:25:51 PM »
At my school the curve is 2.5-2.6 median.. If I have a 3.32 how do I try to figure out where that approximately places me in the grand scheme of things?

This is driving me nuts..

I would kill for some grades. I already know my point total for my writing/research class 93/100 and have known it for about a month now. Who would have thought it would be so hard to place them on the curve. My school normally releases grades as they come in. The other section at my school already has their TORTS grade. GRRRRRR!!

I have also been told how important it is. I mean, what else are we gonna do fresh out of law school... litigate??? Umm, doubtful. I have been told we will have many hours of research and memo writing to give our lives pleasure.

Transferring / Re: Transferring from SIU Law to the U!!

Reading the UM website, it says they look for top 20% or B avg. Do you think this an either/or, or does this depend on which school you currently attend?

I wonder if you are top 20 or have a Bavg, how many they admit?

At my school, SIU it is 3 credits for 2 semesters. I think I did really well. I got 93/100 points... I got A+ on all my writing assignments but a B on my one test that was 25% of my grade. I am hoping I got a A+ in the class.
