Transferring / Re: Ultimate Thread for Those Applying GULC (EA)!!

Has anyone gone complete yet?

Is it pretty well settled that April 7 is the magic day?

I went complete on Feb. 13th.  The admissions person, when asked about when I would hear, said, "Per university policy, applicants will be notified via mail with their decision.  Decisions are typically issued in late April / early May."

I'm a 1L at WUSTL and from what we've been told, this upcoming OCI should be MUCH better than in the past.  The new Dean of Career Services, Mike Spivey, has been working his tail off to get a lot more employers both in the off-campus OCI's and on campus.

Nice! Thanks for the info.  I really hope I get accepted :)

I'll be happy to be done.

However, it would be nice to know if OCI isn't that great and try and establish connections on my own.  Thoughts?
cheers.

Do this regardless, its better to have connections and not need them, than to need connections and not have them.

Transferring / WUSTL OCI
« on: March 06, 2009, 02:15:20 PM »
I am at a T4, top 8% and feel as though I might have a reasonable shot at WUSTL EA.  I applied already and am keeping my fingers crossed.

That being said, I have heard OCI at WUSTL is lackluster, considering its reputation and rank.  Is this true?  Obviously the career prospects out of WUSTL would be heads and shoulders above the T4 I'm at right now.

Can anyone here speak to this?  If I don't get into GULC but I get in here, I will go regardless.  However, it would be nice to know if OCI isn't that great and try and establish connections on my own.  Thoughts?

cheers.

I'm still waiting to go complete.  Everything is out of my hands, though.  Sent off my app through LSAC weeks ago, rec should be on its way, and transcript/letter of good standing have hopefully arrived already.

Who else has gone complete?

Have you guys told your friends about your plans for transferring or are you keeping it all to yourself?

My friends outside of school and my family know.  However, I'm trying to keep it pretty quiet at school.  I don't want people thinking I don't like the school (I don't).  I have also heard of some people on this board facing hostility for their school's administration for attempting to transfer, so I might as well bide my time and keep it to my self.

hmm seems pretty good to me. who knows though really. i havent really found transferapps to be all that helpful in gauging

yeah, it's hard considering it is such a limited pool.  But hey, it's better than nothing.  I'm morbidly curious about the entire process, honestly.

I went complete a couple weeks ago.  I don't think I'll get in EA but I'm crossing my fingers.  I hope we hear in March.

what kind of numbers are you looking at?

Also, will they release all decisions at the same time? If so, I have banked on not hearing anything til any earlier than April 10 or so.

3.75 Law School GPA (roughly top 5%) from Tier 4, 154 LSAT, 3.71 undergrad.  Again, probably too weak to be admitted EA, although I have heard GULC seems to like to take transfer students from my lowly school.

I have no idea about when they release decisions.  I'm trying to forget about it, although that isn't terribly easy.

Best of luck to everyone.

Transferring / Re: How Do You Update on Transferapps?

On the yahoo group, is there a way to update what schools you applied to and what they decided?

I filled in my info for the 2009 database but can't find how I can edit it.  Am I an idiot and just not seeing it?

I wonder the same thing...
