Law School Applications / Re: If You Had a GULC Interview!
« on: January 11, 2008, 12:00:50 PM »
I had an interview right before Thanksgiving. In mid-December, I was deferred; the letter said they'd reconsider me in January and send a decision by Feb. 15.

Is the full ride part of the binding early decision?

I sent my application in early October and got an email a few weeks later saying I was missing my Dean's Certification. A few days after that, my UG said they had forwarded the DC, but it wasn't until yesterday that I got a postcard from BU saying my file was complete. According to the card, I should expect to wait 8-10 weeks to hear a decision.

I was deferred, too. Said they'd make a final decision by mid-February.

Law School Applications / Re: Accepted TODAY !!

University of Minnesota by phone. That's two acceptances this week (the first was William & Mary). So I'm 2 for 2 now... 7 applications still pending (although two of those are safeties). Basically I got into both of my targets this week. Yay! Now if just 1 out of 5 of my reaches accepts me I will consider this a very, very good year.

For any of you other people accepted to UMN, did you get scholarship/aid information over the phone or by mail?

I got accepted last month and the scholarship info came in the mail, a few days after the call. Congrats!

I'm still stuck on "interview," but I learned through email that a decision was mailed Friday. I'm in Florida. Still haven't received it.

I did an interview, and I wouldn't consider myself a splitter (168/3.59). I'm still stuck at "interview" on the status check. Tomorrow it will have been three weeks since the interview. I'm not sure what to think...
Thanks for the info, and good luck!  :)  It could be that your interviewer took a while to send them the evaluation or something like that.  I wouldn't worry too much about the delayed decision.

Thanks. I hope you're right!

Vandy sends out a nice box, including a huge book put together by current 1Ls. It includes stuff about Nashville and the school itself (Vandy lingo, what to expect at your first class, how to brief a case, etc.).

Amen. Still stuck on "interview" at GULC. It's been two-and-a-half weeks...
