General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Best Post-Acceptance Sales Pitch« on: March 05, 2008, 04:25:37 PM »TULANE! They give great postcards (about food and weather and the school of course), AND they send emails about outside scholarship opportunities! They are great! Their admissions team always emails me back immediately, which is also great! i second tulane. gosh they are swell at sending those gorgeous postcards. when i got the one with the fountain and the park i sighed and wondered why the cluck i was giving that up to stay in new england for the rest of eternity. then i remembered that i'm way too uptight to go to tulane. 33
Where should I go next fall? / Re: BC...money..it's what I want.... doo doo doo« on: March 05, 2008, 04:07:13 PM »
just to update here:
i shot off an email to fin aid and admissions, and got a very prompt and polite response (one day turnover!) which noted that my fin aid file was complete and would be reviewed in the near future and i would be made aware of my awards. it was clear that they had pulled my file and everything, which was nice, so, as expected, i'll know more when fin aid stuff comes out later in the month. the main point of my email was just to ask them to keep me in mind, and my replier cc'd a number of other individuals as well, so i hope that's what happens... just thought i'd let everyone know how it went! 34

i have pretty much decided on bc, barring any miracles from columbia and harvard. to be honest, i kind of don't want to get into columbia, because i would feel like i HAD to go, and right now i'm just really set on moving to boston this summer and being at bc. i haven't withdrawn from anywhere yet, mostly because i'm just trying to compare financial aid stuff, but i think it's going to be bc!
and i also love your mscl icon...amazing show. and we are sad to lose you from boston! 36

ahhh j tree is sooo magical. i have some really great recent memories of doing some strange impromptu dance to flo rida there.
i forget who asked but yes if you were staying at the Best Western on Comm ave it would take you about 15 minutes by train to get to BU Law; the B branch of the green line starts at BC and goes through BU. You would want the BU Central stop, I believeYes, and where will the unofficial partying occur? 37

for all my future bc people, i just shot off a polite email asking them to keep me in mind for financial assistance in the form of scholarship or financial aid grants, but emphasizing how thrilled i was to be offered admission and that i understand that the money process could take several weeks or months. i'll let you know how it goes!
