TULANE!  They give great postcards (about food and weather and the school of course), AND they send emails about outside scholarship opportunities!  They are great!  Their admissions team always emails me back immediately, which is also great!

Washington University in St. Louis, because they too have been doing a great job of responding back expediently!

i second tulane. gosh they are swell at sending those gorgeous postcards. when i got the one with the fountain and the park i sighed and wondered why the cluck i was giving that up to stay in new england for the rest of eternity.

then i remembered that i'm way too uptight to go to tulane.

just to update here:

i shot off an email to fin aid and admissions, and got a very prompt and polite response (one day turnover!) which noted that my fin aid file was complete and would be reviewed in the near future and i would be made aware of my awards. it was clear that they had pulled my file and everything, which was nice, so, as expected, i'll know more when fin aid stuff comes out later in the month. the main point of my email was just to ask them to keep me in mind, and my replier cc'd a number of other individuals as well, so i hope that's what happens...

just thought i'd let everyone know how it went!

*SCREAMS*  I want to know where I'm going 100%  *right now*

*** throws huge temper tantrum ***

I even changed my facebook on the school that I'm 90% on hahahaha

Clearly I am going insane.

No insane is encouraging us all to apply as early in the year as possible, publishing that you make decisions in about 8 weeks from file completion, and then lollygagging about the decision!  >:(

I concur.  I fully expect to get rejected from UT and UCLA, but given LSN I would have thought that I'd be rejected by now.

I think that they're hoping I take the hint or something.  Like when someone just doesn't call after the first date, even after you leave them a couple of messages.

haha. i feel like columbia must feel that way about me...

i have pretty much decided on bc, barring any miracles from columbia and harvard. to be honest, i kind of don't want to get into columbia, because i would feel like i HAD to go, and right now i'm just really set on moving to boston this summer and being at bc. i haven't withdrawn from anywhere yet, mostly because i'm just trying to compare financial aid stuff, but i think it's going to be bc!

and i also love your mscl icon...amazing show. and we are sad to lose you from boston!

ahhh j tree is sooo magical. i have some really great recent memories of doing some strange impromptu dance to flo rida there.

i forget who asked but yes if you were staying at the Best Western on Comm ave it would take you about 15 minutes by train to get to BU Law; the B branch of the green line starts at BC and goes through BU.  You would want the BU Central stop, I believe

Yes, and where will the unofficial partying occur?

Yea, lets get on that!

We need to find some Boston people to give suggestions about bars, stat.

Sunset Grill, White Horse Tavern and Joshua Tree are a few decent bars in Allston/ Brighton.  Sunset is my favorite bar in the world.

Also, I guess this is as good a place as any to post a story about BC, and I dont know if this will show up on the BC main page, but I thought this story was pretty cool:

The supervising attorney for this case, which as recently settled, is one of the professors we recently brought in to bolster our IP faculty.  Seems like it was a good hire.

suffolk without a question. i think it trounces nesl as far as regional reputation.

i am boston people...tee hee...i already have some bars in mind. though who knows how things will pan out...with any luck, we'll all become bff over tequila shots and fear of impending doom at the hands of our future profs. woo!

for all my future bc people, i just shot off a polite email asking them to keep me in mind for financial assistance in the form of scholarship or financial aid grants, but emphasizing how thrilled i was to be offered admission and that i understand that the money process could take several weeks or months. i'll let you know how it goes!
