Yeah, I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on this one.  Even WUSL grads acknowledge VU's supremacy.  There's not much of a comparison between the two.  And that's setting aside the fact that I am a 'dore alum.

I guess though if you got accepted Monday, you're too late for the early interview OCI?  It's part lottery, so I guess that means you at least get an interview on a couple?  I might be off, but that's the way I understand it.

Just got in at WUSTL and I don't see a possible reason I won't go.  Can you please explain what you meant by "guaranteed"?  I don't know anything about the process at WUSTL since I was accepted about 48 hours ago, but I would really appreciate it if you would elaborate.  Especially on anything involving a guarantee.

Btw, WUSTL > Vandy...  Yea... I said it.

working for pay full-time. I'm a transfer, so didn't bother with classes.

that's cool.  The NLJ 250 doesn't excite me like an IKEA catalog, since I'm not really a firm type of legal-wannabe.

I think Wash U. is getting better, but GWU is calling me like the testicular cancer support group.

Transferring / WUSL v. GWU
« on: July 13, 2009, 06:31:38 PM »
Any thoughts?
Factors:
GWU is cheaper for me by 10K a year.
I'd rather live in DC or Texas after graduation.
I know WUSTL has better job prospects and better access to profs.
I'd like a legit shot at clerking for a fed ct (any type except bankruptcy)

OP,

Just curious, but where are you doing 1L?  You have some random schools posted.  Keep in mind that if you go to FSU, it might be more difficult to get to USC/UCLA than from Southwestern or Arizona.  There can be a bit of a geographic bias in that some schools have a "feeder" type deal with better schools.  Not that this means there is any great disparity in GPA, but it could give a little extra leeway.  Case in point, transfers from my school get into one private T20 more easily than another because one knows what our T4 is like.

Figure out what geographic area you want and then work your 1L year like you've never worked in your life.  Also, if you want NYU and Columbia, you're going to need to get started on the paperwork process earlier than last minute.
