Law School Admissions / Re: Northwestern Law: Chances?

Thanks all.  Would love to hear more about what y'all think.

* * * *

PS: How's Nashville treating you?  Little brother just got into Vandy Med yesterday.

Hi all -- thanks for tips.  Still not sure whether my friend should retake the LSAT, but it does sound like ED's a good idea.

PS: Hi JNS.  Yale's been amazing, but have been traveling a little more than I'd like.  I got a little too excited discovering that all these little Northeastern states were close together and have been going to Boston, Philly, New York, etc.  Suddenly, I realize that not only don't I understand the reading, I didn't do it -- and didn't even realize it was assigned.

And I totally understand everybody else thinking I'm somehow involved; I'd have reached the same conclusion.

Thanks for the reply.  I should probably have mentioned that her "personal reason" is currently an NU 1L.

Law School Admissions / Northwestern Law: Chances?

Hi all -- looking for a quick favor.

168, 3.4, Asian-American college friend from Duke is hoping to apply to Northwestern. Two years teaching in urban schools (TFA-esque) with a Master's in Education from NU.

1.) She scored around her peak but might be able to squeeze a couple more points out of it if she gets lucky. Should she retake in Dec.?

2.) She's thinking about applying ED to Northwestern, which is her top choice for personal reasons. Will that affect her chances? The school insists that it doesn't -- but any actual stories (or data) would be great.

3.) Does the personal reason need to get a move-on and propose? Will that help?

Thanks always.  =)

I have another one that's been troubling me......would you mind??

Did you PM somebody already about it?  If not, fire away.

I thought maybe he meant that her LSAT score (in points) was higher than him (in cm, maybe?).

Interesting.  I would have suggested an easy admission at least to CCN.  But the most important point (you need a real LSAT score to do this) is very valid.

Law School Admissions / Re: CLS Regular Decision Support Thread

Yeah, got my second reserve letter today.  Dated the 11th.  Trying to decide if I want to stay on.

Same. I am all set to go to Fordham. I have everything in place. BUT I have wanted to go to CLS since high school. Ugh, and the deadline to stay on is tomorrow.

Adding to the reason to stay on is that Fordham is in NYC anyway.  You wouldn't even necessarily have to move apartments; they're even both on the 1 line.

Neither of these considerations are legitimate reasons for picking one of the schools over the other.

If those are real numbers, then forget this Spring nonsense.  Apply T5 for the fall.  You don't need better chances.
