General Board / Con law prospects
« on: January 15, 2008, 10:43:09 AM »
I am a 0L looking for some advice.  I'm extremely interested in many aspects of constitutional law: federalism, separation of powers, bill of rights, etc.

Are there any top firms that actually have work available in those types of fields, or am I destined to work in government?  If I must work in government, what types of steps should I take to get to a career that involves those fields?

Thanks.

How valuable are Secondary Journals as opposed to the main flagship ones?  Is the difference significant, and how so?

I'm looking forward to meeting every one in a few hours.  I have red hair - that can't be too many of us.  If you see a dashing red head in a blue sweater, come say hi!

Which "genre" or type of law do you think is most (and least) popular?  Which are most (and least) competitive to enter into the market for?

General Off-Topic Board / Re: Your Top 5 Presidents
« on: March 15, 2008, 08:01:37 AM »
There's no way Jefferson or Madison deserve to be on these lists - especially not Madison (and I love James Madison).  Barbary Pirates, Impressment, and the War of 1812...not so good days for the Jeffersonian-Republicans.

There is also absolutely no way that any president deserves to be no.1 except for Washington.  We wouldn't even have a stable Presidency except for Washington.

1.  Washington
2.  Lincoln
------------------
3.  Ronald Reagan
4.  John F. Kennedy
5.  Dwight Eisenhower
