Law School Applications / Re: REJECTED, ETC. TODAY

Rejected at BC, Fordham, George Mason and WAITLISTED AT UCONN??!?

166 and 3.8 just doesn't cut it for a white kid anymore I guess.

see also: 166 is the worst LSAT score.

sorry, man. did one of your recommenders sabotage you or something?

I don't think so I had the department chair, a professor and former teacher/longtime friend/coach all write recs. No reason for any of them to say anything bad. Great excurs including NCAA lacrosse, president of school chapter of Poli Sci national honor society as well. No red flags in the background or anything. I'm hoping it's just because of the timing of it being a December score. Personal statement was also good and in my acceptance to Rutgers I had a personalized note about it. Just doesn't seem like my year although I do have full scholarships to St. John's/Seton Hall/Miami so far.

I mean, I don't want to be a dickhead here, but something must have raised a red flag somewhere and it may be important to track that down. Those are very good numbers that should have allowed you to be admitted to one of those 4 schools...and that you were rejected from 3 of them just makes it all the more clear. If it were me, and this happened, I'd retrace my steps, figure out what's going on, and reapply. You have too good of numbers to go to SJ, SH, or Miami.

You think so? I thought that for awhile but then I thought that if there was a red flag somewhere along the line I wouldn't be getting full tuition offers from other schools. I really don't want to have to take a year off and right now I'm considering the SJ and SH offers as I'd like to stay in NY.

Any idea why I got waitlisted with a 166 and a 3.8? I had real intentions of going to UConn as I'm from Westchester and I thought it would be a good fit. Have you heard of any similar stories from classmates? Obviously I don't want to go to UConn for full sticker price and was expecting a nice scholarship, is that still possible after a waitlist? I immediately sent back the letter with LOCI.

yes, wrote the Why Law that has already received comments such as "Excellent personal statement" in acceptance letters from two other schools. No past history that would preclude admissions unless the Dean's office screwed up the rec.

No nothing, just a generic form on lavender paper.

Law School Applications / Waitlist at UCONN?!?!

WHAT THE HECK? Words cannot express my frustration right now.
Statistics: 166 LSAT, 3.8 GPA good resume, good recs and I get wait listed?!?!? Anyone else get a similar letter in the mail today? I'm tempted to send the letter back to them with a big FU. It was really near the top of my list due to proximity.

Any reasonable explanations for this?

Law School Applications / Fee Waiver off Dec Score?
« on: December 24, 2007, 01:30:40 PM »
Hi all. I went up from a 162 to a 166 on the December test and I'm looking to apply to some more of the top 25 schools. I know time is a strong factor here and I don't want to have my application out much later then new years but do schools issue fee waivers like they do following the fall administration? There are some schools I'd definitely apply to and consider going to but it might be overkill for me to apply to 3-4 more schools for another 250 bucks. If and when can we expect fee waivers for merit?

Also on a side note I've gotten two decisions back off my old score, accepted at Miami$$$$ and rejected at Fordham (despite the fact I indicated I was taking it again, my new score would seemingly have given me a strong chance. Jerks.) Here's to hoping I don't see any more decisions in the mail for at least a week which should mean the other schools waited on the score.

Thanks in advance.
