Topics - The ZAPINATOR
For those keeping track at home, WUStL just sent me the acceptance email.
For those keeping track overall, my count so far is:
Accepted: George Washington, Washington and Lee, Washington University, and U Minnesota (one of these schools is not like the other, one of these schools just isn't the same).
Dings: Georgetown. Eh, who needs 'em.

OK, people. Listen up. Here's the deal. I'm about to answer questions, because like Superiorlobe and that guy answering dragon questions, I feel my expert knowledge and expertise about all things cool can really make a difference in your lives.
However, be advised. I will not necessarily answer all questions. I will only answer those questions that I deem to either be "cool" or relating to "cool" topics. Discretion as to what constitutes the aforementioned types of questions rests with me and me alone.
If I consider your question to be extra-cool, you will get some "cool points". The more extra-cool questions you ask, the higher your cool point tally. Ultimately, if you rack up enough cool points, they will be redeemable for various commodities. These commodities include deep thoughts relating to all things cool, by me. That is also what they are limited to, so do not try to redeem them for anything else.
Well, that's it, and those are the ground rules. Let the cool questioning begin! Fire away.
Too cool for (law) school,
I don't know that this necessarily needs a poll, but I felt like making one. Plus, Blue Warrior's been posting a lot of things lately, and I wanted to see if I was alone in not being able to figure out what he/she is going on about much of the time.

I got this idea from someone on XOXOHTH who used a magic 8 ball to predict acceptances and rejections for one of those "where will I get in?" people. So I made a list of my schools, and asked away. I actually asked two different 8 balls... here are the answers they gave me (first one followed by second one).
Harvard: not likely - it is certain
Stanford: maybe - very doubtful
Chicago: not likely - most likely
Penn: yes - without a doubt
Michigan: too hazy - concentrate harder and ask again - as I see it, yes. (the second two of these opinions came off the second 8 ball, if you were wondering why there are 3)
Virginia: yes - outlook good
Duke: ha ha ha - yes, definitely
Cornell: get real - you may rely on it
Berkeley: maybe - cannot predict now
Georgetown: no - cannot predict now
UCLA: not likely - my reply is no
Vandy: get real - don't count on it
Minn: maybe - signs point to yes
GW: die well - my sources say no
WUStL: yes - my sources say no
Emory: no - it is decidedly so
W+L: yes - cannot predict now
Ohio State: ha ha ha - very doubtful
I think I like the second 8 ball better. It was the official Hasbro one, so I'm sticking with it. The first one must be an impostor, therefore everything it says (except the good stuff) must be wrong.

Anyone remember DB Cooper? He was before most of our times.
The guy hijacked an airplane in 1971 with a bomb threat, and asked for $200,000 and four parachutes. The plane landed, his demands were met, and he ordered the plane to take off again for Mexico. Somewhere over the state of Washington, he jumped 10,000 feet into the snowy northwestern forest with the money. He was never seen or heard from again. They never found a body, the money was never recovered.
This man was the last great American folk outlaw. And it's great that nobody still to this day knows who he was, if he got away, or what he did with the money (although it was unmarked bills, they made microfilm of the serial numbers before they gave him the cash).
Actually about $5,000 of his money was found buried in the sand along the Columbia river in 1980 by a boy making a fire pit. The serial numbers matched up, but that was the last and only clue about what happened to DB Cooper and his money.

OK, not only did I hijack Savannah's iconic list thread originally and indirectly contribute to its becoming the beast it is today, but today alone I've hijacked a thread about quoting your favorite author (helped turn it into a debate about the overratedness of Dylan), one about hooking up (helped turn it into a thread discussing several serious moral issues) and hijacked my own non-admitted-holics non-anonymous thread (turned it into a discussion of Scrabble night and watering plants with drinking water).
To all of the people who started these threads, including myself, I officially apologize. I know that when it comes to hijacking threads, I have a tendency to behave badly.
However, I have no plans to reform this behavior in the future.

OK. Here's the deal.
People started getting into Georgetown. I was happy for everyone. Still am. I figured, eh, wait a little longer, you'll probably get in too. It hasn't happened yet. No biggie. It's not the end of the world, and it was a reach for me anyway. Besides, I'll certainly hear from them by Dec. 10, so it's all good.
Then, some people got into Baylor and ASU. I didn't apply to those schools, so of course I wouldn't get in. That didn't bother me at all. For obvious reasons.
Now, though, WUstl sent out a round of admissions emails. Call me crazy, but I think I should be a presumptive admit, and my numbers are about where many of the others were in this first round of admits. Granted, maybe they applied a bit earlier than me... but I'm starting to get stir crazy. Will I ever finally get my first acceptance?
So this thread is for people like me who are counting down the days to their first acceptance. If we're going to be nervous, we may as well be nervous together!
In case you didn't get the point, me and Vagrant decided to stage a non-existent feud in your thread. Sorry it bothered you so much, but at any rate, it's over now and we've revealed it for the sham it's been.
Funny you mentioned about taking it to PMs, but we were actually PMing back and forth the whole time, in a completely different tone. It was all in good fun.
But basically, you're timing's really off... locking the thread now that the "feud" is over? Go ahead and unlock it. We'll behave. Honest. Scout's honor.
