Oh...50th and 100. God. I suck. I get my eyebrows done at 50th and France.

ETA: When the Super-Perkins at 494 and France opened, that's where we went. I'd think that pretty well gives it away.

Hmmm... I am just getting more confused. Somewhere in Bloomington? 494 and France is right between Edina, Ritchfield, and Bloomington, right?

I miss Minnesota  :(

Could be ;)

Me too! Do you plan to go back?

I'm in at UMN, but I'm probably not going at this point. It's a great school, but I really want to stay in Chicago for now. At least Chicago has a bit of that Minnesota Nice. How about you?

Cady, are you from Edina?  That's where I stayed on my two visits (my friend lives there).

Cake-eaters!

No, but not far from there.

Where did you go to high school? Or, if you don't want to say, at which Perkins did the kids in your high school hang out? My high school hung out at the one at Louisiana and 394  :)

:D  50th and France, mostly.

I love people from Minnesota.

Ooh... I would have guessed Edina from that! So SLP or SW?  ;) Wait-- 50th and France or 50th and HWY 100?
And Fargo is in North Dakota, though the movie took place in Minnesota. Moorhead is better anyway.

I actually have been to Minneapolis twice.  Its an unbelievable city.  Can I use you as my connection to the city when I interview?

It really is. I can't wait to go back.

You can use me any way you want.

(Wait...that's your role. I'm so confused.)

I'm from Minneapolis, too. It's a fabulous place to live.

Today, I finally told people at the school where I teach that I am going to law school and will not be coming back to teach next year.  I am so used to discussing stuff on here with people that I forget that most people really don't know anything about law schools!  Here's some of the reactions I got when I told people where I had applied and who I had heard from so far:

"Penn?  like Penn state?"
"Why didn't you apply to the University of Baltimore?  It's a really good school."
"You should really consider Catholic.  They have a great law school."

So I smiled, and made small talk.  But then I felt kind of elitist.  Oh well..

I had the exact same reaction when I told the teachers at my school I was going to law school. They asked where I wanted to go, and I mentioned UChicago. One looked at me funny and said, "Don't think you can get into John Marshall?"

I'm sorry, but the greatest threat to Japan is tentacles.

While they present a real threat, I have to think that Godzilla is nothing to laugh at.

Not to minimize the threat posed by Godzilla attacks in any way, I'm sure the average Japanese schoolgirl feels that tentacle rape is much more common among their peers.

I guess it depends on the demographic you're evaluating.
