^Yeah, I've read a couple of sites that say the same thing.  Supposedly they send out fee waivers for people whose numbers are just under their cutoff or whatever, then use that to fill the waitlist/boost their selectivity for rankings.

Hopefully that's a load of BS and they admit a bunch of people from the wait list, but I'm not sure.

Miami is not public.

Whoops.

As for the OP, did you look at the cost of living in the regions?  Columbus is a lot cheaper place than Miami or NYC to live in for three years.  Not sure about how it compares with W&M.

Ohio State is a very easy place to get in-state tuition for 2L and 3L. They have pretty straight froward instructions on their website.

Yeah, you pretty much need to have a pulse to get in-state rates after your 1st year.  If you're married and your spouse works, you automatically get the in-state rate your first year, too.

W&M, OSU, and Miami are public.  Do you get in-state tuition at any of them?  If you do, that plus the awards would be nice.

OSU has the Fisher School of Business and a joint JD/MBA program that you might look at.  Fisher is one of the top business schools in the nation, not sure about how the other ones rank.  And OSU probably has one of the strongest alumni networks in the country-a few years ago, they got Virginia to begin issuing license plates with a block O on them- so that'd be a help as well.

Also, I'm waitlisted at W&M, so you should free up a spot for me.

Yea, I didn't get that either. It goes to 'Decision' and then you wait nervously for a week to get the decision. On the status checkers of all the other law schools, it actually comes out and tells you whether you got in or not. Don't see why OSU can't do that. Maybe it's an Ohio law?

It's not an Ohio law that I know of.  It's just an annoyance.

On another topic, my dorm room was literally across the street from Moritz my freshman & sophomore years.  Incredibly ugly from the outside, but very nice inside.  Probably one of the nicest buildings on the campus aside from the business school.

Yeah, I was really annoyed by their app status checker too.  It changed today for me, showing "Completed" instead of "Pending."  I call the admissions office, ask what that means, since I had been told my application was complete some time ago, and am told that it means the committee decided.  I ask if they can tell me the decision, they say no, because it would violate FERPA.  I say I can give them my SSN to verify my identity, and they tell me not to, because it wouldn't be secure.  WTF?  You put my SSN into a database, link it to the web, attach my academic information to it, and then don't trust the staff not to go out and get a credit card with it?

 Hail, Hail to Michigan
