I got a rejection letter yesterday from Case, but they offered me a guaranteed transfer if I am in top 33% of any ABA-approved law school.  Anybody else got something like this from Case or any other schools?

I got the same from Case.

Complete at UNC today via email.

Rejected at Case while people with the same (or lower) GPA's and lower LSAT's have gotten scholarship money.  Nobody else with over a 155 has been rejected at Case (I have a 161).

Same here.

What about reading speed?  I cannot read at a consistently fast level for a long period of time.  I know 'reading' in general helps, but does anyone know of any program or course that would be useful?

There are some courses out there that teach accelerated reading techniques, but I don't how effective they are. Some of the courses are actually given at reputable universities (though not for college credit) so if you do decide to take this route  you might want to look into taking one offered by a university.

Law School Admissions / Re: Fee waiver 2 weeks before deadline?

I got one from UNC a few weeks before their extended deadline (which was two weeks after their original deadline). I don't know if they just gave it to me to reject me, but I applied there because its a school that I really would consider going to. Their median LSAT was also lower than what I had originally thought it was when I was deciding what schools I was going to apply to. In fact, after realizing what their medians really were, I was kicking myself for not having applied in the fall.

Hey Jalex,

what's up with Florida? I've been complete forever (like you). Still nothing from them. The weird thing is i'm above the index numbers for whom they have been accepting. Just surprised it's taking this long. I doubt i'd be going there at this point, but would still like a decision, ya know?

Yeah Florida's really been dragging through this cycle. The word on the street is that another wave of acceptances are going to be sent out soon though so who knows. Hopefully we will have all heard back by the end of the month.

Grrrr, thanks!  Still learning my way around....

Not a problem, good luck to you. I think you will have make a different account for the students section, but I'm not sure.

Waiting for Emory makes me feel like this:

You should post on the students and graduates section of this site - this post is in the pre-law section.

What is the best way to find out how far back the states where I am interested in taking the bar will be checking and with what level of detail?

I would check on the Bar Examiner's website for the state where you would like to take the Bar.
