Choosing the Right Law School / Re: 160-164 Thread (give or take)
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:53:58 AM »
Its been relatively bad news for me the last week, I got rejected from Case Western & Emory and have been wait listed at UF.

In other news though, I will be heading to Tallahassee next Friday for their ASD.

Limp Bizkit used to be my favorite band. They disappeared off the face of the earth overnight.

Wes Borland's dad actually used to be the pastor at my church lol.

Congrats to all of you who got good news yesterday!

Are any of you able to log in to this to begin payment?

I haven't been a poster on this board, but I have been checking this board to get my info.  Thought you would like to know that UF is sending out decisions.  I live 5 blocks from the school and got my acceptance today (applied way back on Nov. 5th).  Good luck to everyone on the board!

Ahh CONGRATS! I live off 34th, maybe I got something too, but I am back home for the weekend to celebrate Easter - I can't wait to check my mail tomorrow when I go back!

That's not entirely true.  It depends on where in Florida you want to practice.  If it's Southern Florida, UMiami will place much better than FSU and comparably if not better than UF.  However if you want to work in Northern Florida, UF is probably your safest bet.

You have to bear in mind the additional 66k in tuition over three years for going to UM over UF & FSU though, as well as the higher COL in Miami. In that regard, I would still pick either of those schools over UM. If UM were to provide a good amount of scholarship money and one had an interest in practicing in South Florida however, I agree, UM should definitely be given some due consideration and might be the better choice.

Amica is a great provider and very affordable, but are very strict when it comes to violations - how long ago were yours?

Don't let a ditzy little tour guide deter you from attending a school that places much better than UF and FSU nationally.

Don't let a ditzy little statistic about national placement deter you from attending two schools that place much better than UM within the state of Florida if you have no plans to practice outside of Florida  :D

It definitely depends. I think that their seat deposit is probably due this week so people on "hold" (i.e. us) will get rejected or accepted based on that.

The seat deposit is due May 1.

Law School Admissions / Re: Chances for Temple? Opinions appreciated!

I had very similar numbers to you (160/3.07) and was wait listed at Temple. You might have a better shot if you are in state resident though.
