Law School Admissions / What's a "Strong" Major?
« on: November 20, 2007, 04:53:42 PM »
I know that some majors (like Chemical Engineering) are significantly more difficult than others, but what are some majors that are traditionally considered to be "strong" by most law schools? Also, I am a Business Management, does anyone know how that major fares in the admission process?

What do you all think is the best course of action? I don't desire to practice law at a hyper competitive market like NYC, my first choice in fact is North Florida.

I sent a check to cover my application fee to Alabama nearly a month ago, but it has yet to be cashed. Does anyone know how long Alabama generally takes to cash the checks they receive...?

Law School Admissions / 160/3.01

Soft Factors:
Worked Throughout Undergrad to Finance Schooling
Accelerated Education to Graduate in 2 Years Due to Financial Reasons
As such, I did not take any of the BS classes that pad many people's GPAs.
Interned with Merrill Lynch
Studied Abroad in Beijing
Associate Justice on Student Traffic Court
Asian - Specifically, Indian

I included these in my personal statement.

As of now, I have applied to UF, Emory, FSU, Miami, Temple, Penn State, Georgia State, and Stetson. I realize that Emory and Temple are pretty much completely out of the question.

Do any of you have any suggestions on other schools that I should consider applying to?.. I would like to go to the highest ranked school possible, but don't want to spend time or money on applying to schools that I really have no chance at.

Thanks in advance!

Can someone explain how LSN's indexes work? It doesn't make much sense to me. Here is a link to mine, if you need to see it.
