Where should I go next fall? / Re: Reality check on salaries
« on: March 02, 2005, 02:50:14 PM »
Helping a billionare avoid the theft of taxation, or doing the ridiculous leg work that the government requires for him to earn that extra half a million seems like great work for me. Helping a chemical company to avoid the persecution of some ultra environmentalist zealots for killing off some useless animals, this also sounds rewarding to me. Its as if you made the job sound better to me.

Good to see the world will be in good hands :o

You're also probably one of those people that would change your opinion, if it was YOUR neighborhood and YOUR kids getting sick from the chemicals of said company.  Animals aren't the only ones suffering from polluters.

This is only a problem when private property is not absolute.

. I never found anyone who has found value in working BigLaw, other than the salary. Perhaps making a billionaire another half million, or helping a chemical company avoid being sued for poisoning a nearby water supply is rewarding for some, but not many. If that doesn't bother you, you love the challenge of high-stakes work, and making a lot of money and having the status of a Big City lawyer is sufficient to make you happy, then obsessing over it may be useful, provided you have the grades to get such a job.

There are three cube films? I must see the other two. I love "bad" sci-fi/horror/action films.

I've seen all three "Cube" movies. I was incredibly disappointed with all of them but kept compulsively watching because there was an AWESOME central concept to the movie that never got explored properly. In the first Cube, the following idea was played with, but not properly fleshed out:

Various people worked on designing and building the Cube. But there was apparently no central entity in control of its construction. Just various departments that got billing orders to build various parts and ship them to others who assembled them, etc., until in the end this marvelous Cube thing was built but absolutely no one had the vision of building it in the first place. It just happened. It was as though the Cube just willed itself into being out of thin air and through the accidental conglomeration of various human activities and coincidence, it materialized.

I found this central nugget so fascinating that i watched all three movies. But the writers were so piss-poor that they couldn't fully expand on this haunting concept.

I have never heard of Game. And the only reason I know who 50 cent is, is because a lot of the young men at the juvenile detention center I volunteer at like him.

#@!* you YT! The only reason why you know 50 is because of kids at the juvenile detention center? Do you have a radio at your f-ing crib? Do you watch tv in this female dog? Are you blind in this mofo? Have you ever seen him in mag?

You sound like this racist ass white teacher I had back in alabama who tried to act like she didn't know who the #@!* james brown was. I guess she thinks she will come off ass super white if she doesn't know who popular black people are. suck a cock.

don't argue with me. I'm HBCU. Everything I say is right. I'm an African King. I own you.

I do not think it is a race thing. I know almost no pop culture figures that have emerged since I started college. I listen only to classic rock and talk radio. I rarely read entertainment magazines. And aside from the occasionally flipping through the channels I do not watch MTV. Pretty much all I know about pop culture comes from these young men.  (For the record I pulled up the billboard top 200 albums of last year and I hardly recognize anyone. Who the heck is Kayne West or Maroon 5? Josh Groban?)

OK. I will let the white man slide this time. Don't make me angry again however. I will have my soldiers kill you and order RBG to suck your cock off.
Eh, better not take chances and do it now. I probably deserve it anyway.

Guys with long hair are far superior to their short hair counter parts.
