Congrats Diet Sunkist (fka Otalsh)!

I'm still crossing my fingers that I'll get in off the WL...

Financial Aid / Re: Accepting Financial Aid Package
« on: April 16, 2008, 11:34:43 AM »
First, call the school that gave you aid and find out what the REAL deadline is. I received a package that I have to accept by May 1st, but explained that I still haven't heard back from several schools and am on several waitlists. It turns out that is not 'really' the deadline... they were just trying to get people to complete the forms early.

Ok, seriously... how in the heck did I get waitlisted with a 3.3 index? I think I'm the only 3.3 who wasn't an auto-admit!

IF I get accepted off the WL and SMU rejects me, I'll be there. (But will live with the parents in suburbia to save money).

SMU, where ARE you? My rent is going to the month-to-month rate of $950 starting May 1st!!! If I'm going to be staying in Dallas I'd REALLY like to know so I can re-sign my lease at a much cheaper rate or get the heck outta there...

I just want to mention that I'm not trolling for Baylor by any means (I'm actually considering sitting out a cycle and retaking/reapplying next year to have better options-- unless SMU or Houston come through for me).

If you want to work in Texas: UT, SMU, Houston are the best options. I'd imagine that the 'Baylor vs. Tulane' struggle depends largely on who you ask (I only asked litigators in Texas because that's what I want to do/where I want to practice).

Explain Tulane's Texas placement vs SMU/Houston.

why don't you... i'm sure you're going to anyway...

Thanks! I sent a mass email to my attorney contacts asking Baylor vs. Tulane. The response was overwhelmingly Pro-Baylor (19 to 3).

Attorneys that do what and where?

Litigate in Waco

Um, no. Houston/Beaumont and Dallas.
