Law School Discussion

These are my conclusions based on the info I've gathered on this site:

1) Temple and Villanova are equal in terms of employment prospects within the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.
2) Villanova places better than Temple outside of the Pennsylvania area (particularly DC and NY).
3) One should attend Temple if you have in-state tuition, otherwise, they are equal.
4) Villanova is located in a much better location.
Agreed?

The first 3 are more measurable than #4. Location is really a matter of preference. I'd wager that the crime rate in Nova's neighborhood. COL living is higher. Bland, white 'burbs aren't my thing but hey, different strokes.

so here's my deal: I have a B.S. and M.S. in an engineering/physics discipline + 4 years experience as an engineer (several published papers, etc).  UGPA was only a 3.1 (with a steady upward trend), and i did well in grad school.  I got a 164 on the June 08 lsat after consistently getting 170+ on timed, realistic conditions practice tests.

1) What schools do I have a good shot at with these numbers and

2) Should I retake in Oct? 

Why do you think your actual score was so much lower than your prep tests? Before you decide to retest, give some thought to whether you did your best and whether or not you think you could do better if given another chance. 

My sense is that women in their 30s are at a disadvantage at OCI.  My sample was quite small, so take that with lots of salt.

I have heard this. I've heard people recommend that you 'forget' to wear your ring (if there's a ring) on the day of your interviews. Sad but true.

You could afford movers!!!!! Lucky dog, I called and the average estimate across state was like 3000 dollars.

Oddly enough, it's pretty much the same price as moving myself. Penske truck was the cheapest moving van at $800. That truck gets 8/mpg. 8! 844 Miles at 8/mpg and gas at the national average of $4.13 makes for over $400 in gas, plus tolls and such. It was about even so I figured I'd let someone else do the manual labor and save some wear and tear on my boyfriend's patience.

844 miles. From NYC to Georgia. Thank goodness for movers and a pool at my new apartment complex.
