General Board / Re: How hard is law school?

Shouldn't the real question be "Is Mass Effect the best RPG since Baldur's Gate 2, and is NPE going to go play it right now?"

To both of which the answer is Yes Indeed.

Reading the crime log in the local paper, a 16 year old kid stole a 30 pack of Busch Light off the back of a distributor truck. He was wearing a t-shirt that said "[CM city] raised me crazy." For some reason, this was hilarious to me and I'm seriously considering making one of these shirts for myself.

Happy Father's Day to anyone lucky enough (or unlucky enough) to be a dad!

1) GULC off the WL (after depositing at GW)

2) No waitlists

NPE, are you going to Gtown?

I am.  My girlfriend's at Yale right now for a summer program, and I'll fly out to see her in a couple weeks.  We'll take a train down to D.C. and (hopefully) secure a place then.

Anyone else starting at gTown this fall?  I'm always surprised how few GULCers there are on the board, given the school's class size.

[Oh, and I never congratted you on Ithaca, MBW.  Congrats! :) ]

Stupid things I said as a 1L:
You mean if I got to room 165 at noon I’ll get free pizza and all I got to do is listen about some group/club/journal/origination/cause/problem? How bad can that be? I’m in!”

I’ve seriously sat through time share sales pitches that were more interesting than most of the crap I went to to get free food. I mean I went to the Black Law Students Association, the Latino Law Association, the Women’s Law Association, the Right to Life law Association, the Pro Choice law association, the law republicans, the law democrats, gay law students for equal right, evangelical law students for stoning people to death who are different, animal law association, BBQ Law group, Native Amercian law students. I had no shame but I did not pay for lunch for near on two years. My pasty white, fat balding male conservative ass would sit in the back of the room and say with a mouthful of free food “speak it brother!” “speak it sister!” “down with men” “free the amainls!” “This is some good BBQ” “You said it homie!” “abort that baby” “save that baby!”. I freely and openly support your [insert cause/compliant/mission here] if you feed me.

So... why was this stupid?  Sounds great to me.

No thanks.  I'm "sought after hugely" enough as it is.

House is terrible.

Thank you!  Someone else with good sense in this thread.

Yeah Kat, I SAID IT!

I just threw up on my monitor.
You people make me sick.

5 minutes in: weird symptoms
10 minutes in: House mocks his underlings
20 minutes in: try conventional treatment
30 minutes in: symptoms worsen
40 minutes in: House says to try unconventional treatment, with little justification for his decision
41 minutes in: "but it could kill him!"
45 minutes in: House mocks patient's family
50 minutes in: patient gets better
55 minutes in: House walks alone to his car

Isn't that pretty much every episode?

On another note, I challenge everyone in this post mod or not, and all the veterans reading this to do a better job of welcoming new posters. We all have a tendency to skip posts that don’t apply to us (like about schools we don’t go to, or LSATs scores we did not get) but that does not mean you can’t pop into a thread and just say “welcome” or point a newb to a regular poster who could help them. Just because you don’t personally have anything to add does not mean you can’t be welcoming anyway.

Its also does not mean you can’t say, as just a poster, cut it out, when some newbi is getting trashed because the only school he caught into was Cooley or something. There is a fine line between offer advice and just trashing, and the just trashing seems to take precedence here or is ignored by the regulars becuas it "does not apply to them" and the newbis leave LSD because they don’t feel welcome. It applies to all of us becuase the more new posetrs we run off the fewer new ideas and prospctives we get. More people might stick around if more people just took a few seconds to pop in a newbi thread and say welcome or here’s a link to a thread that might help you. We, myself included, don’t need to be an insular as we are on this board. New blood is good for everyone.

Yes Yes Yes.
