Deferred in Nov. My status checker changed from Decision to Complete on 1/31, and then from Complete to Decision today. Anyone else?

It's like being stabbed in the gut.

 :D

I just keep telling myself that while DC is an awesome place for law, it's not so good for buying a house. My wife watches too much HGTV.

HGTV = Home ownership fanaticism

i used to work as a production assistant for a few HGTV shows!

Oh yeah? My wife likes the Canadian ones the best for some reason. Especially Candice Olsen on Divine Design.

Any funny stories from behind the scenes?

i can't think of any interesting specifics, just that Ian from the now-defunct Design Remix was freaking hilarious.

Nice.

Congrats on the awesome cycle and good luck with the running!

GW Admissions said two pages was all they expected for the 500 word essay. They weren't going to count.

Oh well. Waitlists aren't so bad, right?

FT + PT.

Were you one of the people that got deferred from GULC too?

hmm, that's what i applied to...maybe my soft factors are just amazing =)

no i haven't heard anything from GULC...i applied PT only around new years...hopefully they show me some love

Seriously. I think their 500 word limit on personal statements killed me--I had to take out a lot of stuff to make 500 words. Looking back, I should have just written a different essay altogether. Laziness...

Edit: Just went back to Decision at GULC. My stomach hurts.

i didn't even go down to 500. i wrote a 2 pager for every school (about 700 words) and just used that. obviously it didn't matter too much. i also served a 2 year mission for the LDS church and i think that helped. the admissions dean mentioned it in my acceptance letter.

I should have just done that. Mine was two pages.

I have similar numbers to Amped: 171, 2.x, but I got waitlisted at GW. Go figure. Am I official?

Oh, and did anyone else here get the fee waiver email from Columbia today?

no fee waiver here...

as for GW...did you apply PT?
