Bama loves in-state people? I was under the impression that this wasnt a very big factor to them. I hope you are right though.

This is what their website says in the FAQ section:

Is Alabama residency considered in admissions and may I change my residency status after my first year of law school?

As the State's only public law school, Alabama residency is one of many factors in admissions. Thus, it is useful for nonresidents in particular to describe their ties to the State and/or their interest in the University of Alabama School of Law.


I have no ties to alabama.

Region is not important.

I am fielding suggestions for another school I should apply to. I have 9 apps out now and I would like to add another. I am thinking of Tennessee but I would like to add another reach/target. I have a 160 and a 4.0. Schools that are known to value GPA highly would be great.

My reasoning it that I will probably retake the LSAT in June and wait a year if I do not get into one of my top choices.

Would I have a shot at Bama? I know they love in state.

To be priority track for Florida you must apply by January 15th and be complete by March 1st. To enter the secondary pool you must apply by May 1st and be complete by May 15th. I think you have plenty of time.

I am considering retaking the LSAT in June and taking a year off because of my terribly disappointing 9 point drop from my avg prep to the actual test. I only studied about 6 weeks for the December test and I think I can do much better. I never did the ground building study because I was so rushed. I read the LG bible and took about 10 PTs. I thought that would be enough but, now I think it may not have been. I will try to improve from a 160 to 170+.

Would the following make a good plan? Start light studying in February, learning question types and LG game types, reading scholarly material, taking a PT once a week. March: Two PTs a week and heavier studying. April & May: Full swing. PT every other day and daily studying.

How beneficial are the classes? I live in about an hour and a half drive from any city with a class so I think the only realistic option would be online class or a weekend course. Are these helpful?
