I received my first acceptance the Monday after I returned from my honeymoon. I was accepted at Florida letter postmarked Jan 29th. Not my first choice but I would love to live in Florida.

I guess I am speaking of the Midwestern Chicago/Detroit accent. The ones who all call their mom "MAAA!" lol hmm... that is strange. I was raised in rural Tennessee near Appalachia and almost everyone around here call their parents momma or daddy. It seems strange to me to hear guys calling their father "daddy" but that is what they say. I guess there could be a lot of localization with these terms. Anyway, back to the main topic. Nothing beats a girl with a southern accent especially if she cooks you sweet potato pie. lol 74

I am deathly afraid that my fiancee will lose her accent if I go to a school up north. If she developed a hint of a northern accent I would immediately transfer to Ole Miss. Honestly, what would be the point of pillow talk if your lady sounded like Rosanne.
Funny story: My fiancee and I went to the subway recently and while we were ordering this group of about six or seven yankees entered. While I was paying for the meal she went and found a seat. She was so irritated by the yanks accent that she sat as far away from them as possible. I could not help but laugh. 77

Where do you need to be in the class rank to be likely to obtain a job at the median public salary? I know this probably changes from school to school but does anyone have a guess. Here is how I made an estimate(U of Iowa):
Job Distribution Private Practice= 58% Government= 10% Clerkship= 5% Academic= 5% Public Interest= 9% Business= 13% Average Salary Private Practice= $89,298 Government= $44,888 Clerkship= $43,134 Public Interest= $37,698 Business= $82,455 Assumptions: Of the students who enter the respective areas: Clerkship > Academic > Private Practice = Business > Government > Public Interest Try and follow me: 5+5+[(58+13)/2]= 45.5 So, if you are in the top 40% of the class you should have a good shot at a job of $80,000+, right? 78
Law School Applications / How bad is this typo?« on: January 21, 2008, 08:02:51 PM »
I was about to send my addendum to my 10th school when I read over it and found a typo. How bad does this sound. I have sent it to 9/10 of the schools I am applying to and the tenth one was a safety that I really have little or no interest in attending. It is in the first paragraph so I figure they will see it.
" I accepted a judicial diversion in which I completed 100 of community service and six months unsupervised probation." Is it possible they will think I intended to put 100 of community service? 79
Law School Applications / Clerks office sent wrong ssn« on: January 20, 2008, 02:02:46 AM »
So, I had the clerk and master of my county send a letter to Florida telling them that my record had been expunged. They sent me a copy of this letter and I noticed that they had my social security number is wrong by one digit. Will UF Law be able to use this or do I need to have them send the letter again with the right ssn?
