Studying for the LSAT / Re: Whats average first time practice test score?
« on: October 12, 2007, 06:29:44 PM »
I don't know what the average score is, but my very first score without any studying was a 154. After three weeks of intensive studying, my practice test score was up to a 179. Hurray!

You must tell me how you studied. In explicit detail. ;D

Yes, I think Cookeville is a great small town. There are also a lot of really great nature areas around like Cummings Falls, and Cane Creek. That being said, Tech is a suitcase college and almost everyone leaves on the weekend. That is why I had to join a fraternity.

Could you explain?

I guess my goal is to make good money and be able to be a decent family man.  I want to make about 80-100k a year although not necessarily right out of the gate, maybe 5-10 years out of school.

Took the June 2007 with a timer and I made a 159.  :( About what I was expecting, though a slight disappointment. But I have recognized that I have a problem with reading comp. I only got 17 out of 27 correct. The other areas were about equal. What is the best way to improve my reading comp? With moderate gains in the other areas and significant gains in reading I think I could still be looking at a 170.  ;)

Choosing the Right Law School / Clinical Programs
« on: October 11, 2007, 12:27:22 AM »
What sort of weight should be given to schools with clinical programs in the area or areas that one is interested in? Should someone go to a slightly lower ranked law school who has a clinic in their interest area? Are clinic programs that important?

Thank you for all the advice. I will take another practice test soon, the June 2007 one. I will also buy the newest practice tests from the LSAC website soon. I bought the Kaplan 180 book and the Superprep book from LSAC and they are both helpful.

I did have another question:

What sort of weight should be given to schools with clinical programs in the area or areas that I am (currently) interested in? Should I go to a slightly lower ranked law school who has a clinic in my interest area? Are clinic programs that important?
