T14- refers to the top 14 law schools in the country. In order, they are Yale [1], Harvard [2], Stanford [2], NYU [4], Columbia [5], Chicago [6], Penn [6], Michigan [8], Berkeley [8], Virginia [10], Duke [10], Northwestern [12], Cornell [13], Georgetown [14].
TITCR- this is the credited response (said in response to something that one agrees with; borrowed from standardized testing, where it means, this is the right answer)
T4- Tier 4
T4- Top 4
T14- Top 14
T20- Top 20
T25- Top 25
T1- Tier 1 (50-1 rankings)
T2- Tier 2 (100-51 rankings)
T3- Tier 3 on USNWR Rankings
USNWR- US News and World Report (publishes ranking of the ABA 181 law schools)
TTT- third tier toilet; refers to either a very bad law school, or anything else that's very bad
YP- yield protection; when a school rejects or defers an applicant they believe overqualified, and therefore unlikely to attend
HYS-Harvard, Yale, Stanford (top three law schools)
CCN-Chicago, Columbia, NYU (ranked between four and six)
MVPB-Michigan, Virginia, Penn, Berkeley (ranked between seven and ten)
URM - underrepresented minority (Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American)
AA - affirmation action
LOCI - letter of continued interest (expressing you are still interested in a school despite not yet receiving an acceptance or rejection)
WL - waitlist
Ding - rejection
PS - personal statement
DS - diversity statement
