General Board / Is your school "cut throat"?

I am still deciding which schools I'd like to apply to and one of my main concern is how cut-throat the students are.  Since you all are already in law school, please share your experiences.

--Is your school cut-throat or insanely competitive?
--Do people tear pages out of books in the library so you won't have access to them?
--Are students wiling to share notes with you if you miss class?
--Are students friendly?
--Do you have genuine friends at the law school?
--Any other things/experiences you may be willing to share.

General Board / Salaries for Major Non-profits/Advocacy Organizations???

Does anyone have an idea of what the starting salary would be for a major non-profit or advocacy organization, i.e. Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, American Red Cross, ACLU, to name some.
Is there a list similar to the list for the BigLaw firms?

What schools are considered safety? T3, T4, or the bottom half of T1? 
Are your choices of safety schools schools you wouldn't mind going to or did you select them for other reasons?

General Board / Law School Debt

It seems that many of the people who post here get disheartened with law school due to the debt they accummulate.  This is particularly true with the T14 schools.  If you had the choice to study at a B school with a full-ride or at least a significant amount of aid, would you opt for that?

Law School Applications / Need to send a 2nd LOCI...what should I say?

It's time to send my second round of the LOCI to a school, but I have no idea what I should say.  My reasons are still the same for wanting to go to the specific school.  I won't be visiting the school until May so not sure if I should tie that in as well. 
Is the 2nd round of LOCI a page long or should it be shorter than the original?  Do people recycle the previous one or write a completely new one?

Law School Applications / LOCI..when do you start sending them?

At what point should one send an LOCI after being notified of being waitlisted?  Immediately, one week, one month? Also, is it really in a 'letter' format or like a secondary personal statement? Thanks!
