Law School Applications / Interested in American University (WCL)?
« on: August 06, 2007, 06:23:48 PM »
I'll answer any questions. See also http://wikilaw.blogspot.com for ongoing details of what 1L life is like there, as well as what it is like to live in DC (I know some people have never lived in a major city before, and want to know what DC is like).

It'd be nice to know before you blow the money on applying.

Add Washington and Lee to that list.

No, Florida State.

Well, it's a few years out of date. Some things don't change in law school (i.e. socratic method, a-hole contracts professors) and some things do (using west/lexis is used much more than it used to by law students, more classes done with podcasts/vodcasts, more law schools have official faculty blogs, etc). Ivy Briefs didn't cover much of any of that.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / 1st Year Law school Guide: MUST READ.

I've got a blog of my experiences as a 1L at American University Washington College of Law up at http://wikilaw.blogspot.com and for those interested in the internship process as well, it covers my legal internship with Wikipedia. If you've been reading 1L and Ivy Briefs, those are both good books, but this will be a more accurate and up to date version of what law school is like right now. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me there through email or comments, and I'd be more than happy to answer them.
