Karla Vargas, the head of financial aid at Cornell, said that scholarship awards take into account both need and merit.  However, the $$$ amounts do not take loans into account.

Got an offer of 17.4K per year at Cornell.  Is it even worth considering Michigan over them at this point, since I'd get NO money from them based on merit off of the WL?

I didn't get anything today, but I was deferred from ED.  Should I be worried?

The deferred from ED group will hear much later.

I'm ready to believe you, but how do you know this?

I'm also a "hold" so such info would be nice if it is available.

AJ, would you really take Chicago over NYU?

I think Cooley will be the big surprise by moving all the way up to T14.. based on class size, library size, and professional librarians, I know they will they told me they were a top ten school in the country

Hey now, professional librarians are interesting folk, and very helpful too.

Deferred at UChicago. I actually was expecting a rejection, so this came as a bit of a surprise.

Deferred this late in the game?  That's odd.  My numbers are also a stretch at Chicago, so care to PM me yours to see if I might be in a similar boat?
