What's the general consensus on this? Already have an offer from the firm I did summer associateships at (120 some attys, $120K first year associate salary). I understand that a clerkship (especially federal) is prestigious and great training ... but is there really much of a point if I already have an offer at a big (for my area) firm? Just curious as to what your opinions were.

Well, I've settled on taking the full ride to Saint Louis University. I like St. Louis, I'm interested in health law, and that damned full ride was too much for me to turn down. WUSTL and UIUC, I love you guys, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Flame away, friends!

Ok, so here's my choice: UIUC costing me about $13K/year after scholarship, WUSTL costing me about $20K/year after scholarship, and I'm a finalist for a full ride to SLU. I currently live in St. Louis. I'd like to practice in the midwest, preferrably in Chicago, secondarily anywhere between Chicago and St. Louis. I have a preliminary interest in health law, which SLU apparently has the "best health law program" in the nation. So, YOU MAKE THE CALL!

Do you guys think it's safe to assume that if I got waitlisted at a school, if they do end up admitting me they won't be backing a truck of scholarship money up to my house?

Rager here. Just got my first acceptance to Illinois (w/ $15K/yr) and thought I'd pick everyone's brain as to their impressions and thoughts on the school because you all seem very intelligent and I love each and every one of you with all my ragin' heart. Fire away! (cue machine gun sounds)

I will no longer be posting or looking at this board until I get accepted somewhere. If none of you ever hear from me again, I am either dead, or not in law school. Good day.
