Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Northwestern Status

I have actually found the admissions staff for NU to be rather nice and accommodating.  I have called them several times with various questions and have never been treated rudely.  Maybe you should reconsider the attitude you have when addressing people.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / $$$ at GWU

While I was in DC for the GULC open house, I got a Presidential merit Scholar offer from GW... 15K a year.  Made me very excited, but guess we'll have to see how everything else pans out.

I got in shortly before Christmas and received the packet last week.  It's a good packet- binder with all sorts of info about NU.  Including alumni and OCI firms broken down by city/state.

I was also held... 167/4.0.  Thought it would have been a flat rejection, so somewhat glad to get the hold.  I don't know that I think it is yield protection.  IMO it is because I was borderline and they wanted to gauge my interest/see other sides of me.

What was your undergrad GPA? I ask since you have your graduate numbers up....

I'd say if you make a favorable impression your chances are very good, and an interview is always better than an essay because it means they connect with you.

good luck

I assume you heard via mail?

Yep, snail mail, thin business envelope...

I have a feeling one awaits me in the next couple of days...

I hope you get luckier than me!!

Held at Chicago- http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/display.php?cycle=0405&user=melissamw

Given the option to do an interview, or write an essay.  Wonder what my chances of being accepted would be if I did an interview.  I hate to just waste my time and money by doing an interview...

I thought LSAT scores were good for 5 years, you might want to check on that.
