Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: How Does This List Look?!
« on: November 26, 2008, 02:02:31 AM »
So I'm trying to come up with a short (but actually kind of long) list of law schools and it's a problem. First, the list, then a couple of question.

Reach Schools
UVA
Northwestern
Georgetown
Cornell
Duke

Mid Range
Vanderbilt
Georgia
George Washington
Emory?

Safety
Tennessee
Alabama
Loyola Chicago/DePaul?

Desperate
Samford

How does this look if I want to practice in either 1. Chicago, 2. Atlanta, or 3. DC?

Given these choices, what kind of scores SHOULD I have? (I won't tell you my actual scores)
Any softs that would help? (I won't tell you what I have either)

Information: Junior at Auburn University (Alabama), female

Thanks!

Is this some sort of guessing game we are supposed to play? lol

I read nothing beyond your schools. Texas owns above all of them. Until you realize that, you are not worthy of comment. HTH.

Ninja, I know you are fiercely opinionated and all, but are you saying Texas owns Vandy? That's at best an opinion, and at worse, blatantly false. And I don't see why you judge the guy over his preferences.

Texas hands down. Vandy is great and all, but give me Texas any day. No one has any good reason to pick Vandy over Texas unless they really want to live in Nashville for 3 years.

Also, consider that sometimes I just throw stuff out there to see who bites... ;)

Haha. Looks like I bit. But you acknowledge it is an opinion. If big law placement is someone's cup of tea, Vandy does better, as far as I know. Have you seen JNSL's Vandy placement link? It's on here somewhere.

I can give out lessons on how to pick up chicks through online forums, if you want me to, CM. For a price, of course.

I don't need any lessons, dude. ::flexes::

Ugh, I can't sleep. I did fall asleep, but the I woke up because I thought I saw something that wasn't there :-\  that happens to me sometimes

I'm usually here around this time (time zone difference) if you want someone to keep you company against the scary things that go bump in the night.

I agree with GY, but you would probably be better served posting this in the LSAT forum. A good amount of the people here are more into the application/acceptance part of the law school process, and most of them don't pay that much attention to the LSAT anymore. Over there, however, you can usually find pretty lively discussions on the topic, especially with an lsat in like 10 days.

Harvard as well.

Yep, agreed - Yale assuming your GPA mirrors your awesome LSAT. Good luck next year...

NYU, for no real reason.

I'm going to rain on your Yale parade and say Chicago.  Blame Wally :).
