Where should I go next fall? / Re: Slightly Disappointed.

I'm not sure about the correlation here, but doesn't a rise in tuition for law schools naturally lead to a rise in the cost of legal services? Not immediately, obviously, but over time.
The burden will fall to the consumer eventually, and at that point, it isn't regulated by anything but market forces.
At least if California taxpayers are asked to subsidize higher education on the front end it can be regulated.
This is just a thought I had on a whim. Not sure how persuasive it is.

Mine was a page double-spaced

I stayed in a law school's on-campus housing for a few days (with a friend), and as much as I hate to admit it, BotBot is right about how awful it can be.
People come knocking on your door at midnight asking for notes and to borrow cooking stuff.
All they talk about is school and job searches and who is farthest along on the assignments.
People leave their doors open while they study so people can see that they're studying more (maybe I'm just cynical, maybe they were open to encourage socialization, but somehow I doubt it).
The walls are *paper* thin, so you can hear every whisper and grunt next door.
Shared bathrooms and kitchens? Not since freshmen year of undergrad and *never* again. On-campus food options are minimal and not at all good for off-hours or special diets (vegetarian/vegan etc)
The environment is *toxic*, and this wasn't even during finals prep time.
I know there are a lot of benefits to on-campus housing (like convenient location), but I'd advise people to think twice about living on-campus, and at the *very* least visit the housing after hours and talk to people living there.

hey, any current 1Ls reading this board have anything to say about law school confidential's method for studying and preparing for exams?

Crap.  Ok probably not crap.

Something between crap and vomit.

Ok ok.  It's not any of that, but it is worthless.

You don't really seem to be the typical law student though (in terms of study time and ways of preparing)

When do they start looking at/sending out regular admission apps?

They said they'd "go back to work" early January, so I assume the 2nd or the 3rd.

Where's your blog entry on BC btw?

I wrote a quick one last night.  :P
It's how most of my friends will find out about it since I'm too chicken to tell them myself.
(The friends and family aren't thrilled about the idea that anyone could ever leave Texas for any reason)

What's the website?

PMed it to ya. It's not a masterpiece of blogging excellence- just a way to keep friends and overseas family updated.

Send me a PM, too!

Done

Hey Cosmo, are you gonna write a LOCI?

I PMed you about this... ;)

PMed you back  :P

I like Law School Confidential, even though it's a bit dramatic.
There's some good advice in there.
