Where should I go next fall? / Re: South Texas College of Law

I lived in Sugar Land for 13 years, so if you have any questions about the SW area of Houston, feel free to pm me.
This is also a tag for information about living downtown.

Law School Applications / Re: Anyone hear from U. Houston?

I heard from Houston on 1.9.08 after going complete on 10.24.07 (3.45/164)
A friend of mine sent his application on 10.22.07 and went complete shortly thereafter. He should be getting his letter today after going to decision on Monday. (3.25/160)

Anyone get the "file complete" email from Wash U today? If so, was it a duplicate notice for you too? Any idea what happened?

Here's what happened: I sent in my application in early October, got a confirmation letter later in October, and then got the exact same email today. Perhaps they just included the wrong group of students in the email they sent out.

Can't hurt to ask, right?

I'm so glad someone else posted about this.
I went complete in early December and got a confirmation email then. I also received this one today. Not sure why.

My parents brag in a strange way (mostly because they don't know anything about the schools I'm getting into)
"My daughter got into BC- it's so cold there and expensive and the people are rude"
"My daughter got in UH- it's too damn hot and the city is dirty and boring and we got out as soon as we could"

A friend of mine got into Harvard last year and her mom racked up a $1000+ phone bill calling her family in India to brag about it. Apparently her grandfather was stopping random people in the street to tell them his granddaughter got into Harvard.

Law School Applications / Re: BU LAW-- No Acceptances Yet?

I got an email from them yesterday requesting more information on my application, so at least we know their office staff hasn't been eaten by bears.

what kind of "more information"?

Questions about my citizenship status.

That seems a little strange, but I guess I dont know you but it didnt sound like you had citizenship issues

Not issues.. for whatever reason, they wanted to know what country I hold citizenship in, and I told them I'm in the process of getting US citizenship.

I subscribed for a short time just to see what it was all about.
Just to echo what other people are saying, it's not really worth it for researching schools.
Most of the insight it has is just user comments like "BC really is the Disneyland of law schools!!1"
I think every now and then I ran into some information I thought was interesting, but it probably wasn't worth the subscription.

My main was a Tauren Hunter.
Level 68
At my most addicted point, probably 40-50 hours a week (hence the GPA)
I haven't played in 8 months. All the people I played with have moved on, and the game isn't the same now.
This year I wrote a research paper for a government class "Citizenship in Virtual Worlds" where I wrote about legal issues facing communities like World of Warcraft. Easiest. Research. Paper. Ever.
