NVM... I see you can save a section tab or notebook into a word doc. Cool feature!

I like OneNote because it auto-saves as you go. And if you tag relevant things like restatements, elements, definitions, etc., in OneNote as you go, then you can do an auto-summary that you can feed into an outline in word when you are ready to outline.

Auto-summary?  Sounds interesting.  Is this a feature in the program?  How does it work?

Pointless Arguments / Re: Bigger threat: Radical Islam or Global Warming?
« on: September 14, 2007, 11:04:52 PM »
you can't really separate the two. radical islam was caused by global warming.

think about it:

beginning of islam to ca. 1000: global temperatures rise; muslims on a conquest binge.

1000 - 1850: global temperature cools; muslim golden age of philosophy, math, science, arts, etc. little warfare.

1850 - present: global temperatures rise again; muslims become violent again.

Sounds like the pastafarian argument.  Down with Global Warming!

Any advice from 2Ls-3Ls+?

What's the best way to work productively in SGs?  Any tips on what worked for you?

My group met today for about 6 hours---it felt terribly inefficient.

I love E&E for Crim.  Agreed, not as good as Torts or Contracts, but the examples really help you apply the BLL

LEEWS is outdated.  works for old professors, but not newer, younger ones.  You'll see.

What do you recommend for exam prep with the "new" types?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Please be brutally honest!!!!!!!

TITCR if you are WILLING to wait another year and if you did not prep as well as you absolutely could have. If you can increase your score to say, 162-3, you will be in much better shape. Get it to a 165 and I think you're in a T14 or Boalt.

I don't think so.  I don't know where people on this board got the notion that Boalt weighs UGPA so heavily.  I had a 166/3.95 from a respectable UG and got waitlisted then rejected from Boalt two years ago. I applied during the first week of October.  I had great WE, solid PS and an impressive and clearly focused resume.

Of its peer schools I would say it is the closest to getting there.  I would say the placement is more national that Vandy or Texas, but that may be a choice thing.  Also, isn't WLRK OCIing there this year?

Not according to NALP.

"If they do, they aren't very productive, since Wachtell has two attorneys from UCLA, and only one hired in the last ten years."

I wasn't commenting on whether UCLAW students fair well in "top" firms.  I was just confirming someone's speculation and debunking someone else's incredulity.  Whether or not much came of it, WLRK did open themselves up to UCLA's OCI bidding.  This was the first year they came to us, so obviously there aren't printed statistics to reflect this.  That's really all I wanted to say.
