Black Law Students / Re: Duke VS Georgetown-

Thanks everyone for the comments!  The Duke deal is not that sweet, I have 42K over 3 years. That's why I am wondering if that amount of money is such a bad deal to pass up.  I would really would like to know more about the environment.  Thanks MCB for remembering that.

Duke offered me 42000 (48000 if I accepted at a date before May 1) and both deadlines are May 1.

Black Law Students / Duke VS Georgetown-

I posted this in another part of the discussion board already but I was interested in hearing some minority prospectives on this issues.  I have been offered a scholarship from Duke, but not from GULC.  What should I do.  I am interested in politics which is why DC is looking good.  Also I was looking for a supportive environment and my impression was that the BLSA in GULC was pretty strong.  On all other respects I like both of the schools.

I posted this questions in another section of this discussion site, but I am really interested in hearing some responses from minority prospectives.  I am really concerned about being in a supportive environment and I found aspects of that in both schools; however, my impression was that GULC had a much stronger support system especially with the Black Law Student's Association.  Even though I am a country girl, I really want to get involved in politics so DC is also looking really good to me. Beside that I actually like both schools and meet people attending both that I think will be helpful.

I have also told GULC about all the offers I have been given.  They told me they would send an email out on the 30th

Right now I am not completely sure what  i want to do.  I do know that I would like to eventually get involved in politics which is one of the main reasons why I have such a big interest in DC.  I loved the sense of community that I found at Duke and the faculty, but I also found those same aspects at GULC.  I am a country girl but I think I want to experience something different.

Choosing the Right Law School / Duke VS Georgetown- Where should I go?
« on: April 26, 2007, 10:09:52 AM »
I really like Georgetown, but Duke offered me a 42000 scholarship over three years.  I like the school but not as much as I like Georgetown.  Is that scholarship enough to turn down GULC who hasn't offered me anything?
