Was this just to match new market salary? I can't see the $160k mark being bumped up any higher than it is by Spring, but I guess they want to leave their options open. 32

My understanding is that they are bound by the 45 day rule if they are. If they are not part of NALP then the 45 day rule is probably of no relevance. It's pretty shady that they aren't following the guidelines if they're members of NALP. Given this, are you sure you'd even want to work there? Ask for an extension. Two weeks is far too little time for a decision that will affect the rest of your career. 34

Not since an email I sent a day or two after the interview asking how long it might take to hear back (as I had forgotten to ask at the time). A lot of people I've talked to have been experiencing significant time delays before getting offers for next summer (2-4 weeks), so it seems like this wait is now a normal thing. However, I also got an offer today from a firm I just talked to this past Thursday. 35

Yes. I had one very close to Labor Day. I thought it went very well, but I have not heard back. I am beginning to count it at a loss, even if they did have this Monday off.

I've had several firms offer me interviews like that. Only two firms have asked me to visit them for screening interviews rather than going ahead with scheduling "callback" interviews. Yes. |
