Incoming 1Ls / Law firm starting salaries
« on: April 17, 2005, 06:20:52 PM »
I am trying to get a handle on starting salaries at law firms in the Kansas City area, but am not sure how to go about this.  I've heard that there is some sort of book that lists all major firms, their starting salaries, billable hours, and summer associate salaries.  Does anyone know of such a book, or where I could find this information?

I have a similar situation.  I'm not sure what to do either.  Both are great schools, but I wonder if it would be ok to tell the higher ranked school of the offer and ask if they could offer a scholarship. I've heard of people doing this, but not sure about it myself...

Thanks for the info on UCLA.  I guess I might be out of luck on that school.

UCLA will pay for URM's flight and hotel, but not for non-URMs.

What is the point of withdrawing if you receive no refund?

Do all of the schools put the reimbursement info in the acceptance packet?  (I haven't seen any of my acceptance packets yet because they go to my parents address!)  Or, do you have to call some of them and ask?

Law School Admissions / Travel reimbursement

I'm hoping to travel to 5-6 different schools:
Stanford
Duke
Berkeley
UCLA
Georgetown
UT
Does anyone know anything about travel reimbrusement at these schools?  I've tried to do a few searches.  I've read that Berkeley will pay for your flight if you book through them.  Do you have to show need to get reimbursed, or do all schools do something similar such as paying for a flight?  Any help would be extremely appreciated!  Thank you:)
